Yesterday was on Route 17(soon to be I86)headed to cemetary with my bride of 51 years to put flowers on her mothers grave in Rock Hill,NY when a JB Hunt truck passed me headed West.Someone had spray painted on the side in large letters in script"THE ONLY GOOD COP IS A DEAD ONE". Simply could not believe my eyes but had my wife tel 800# and report ID number on truck. The lady who answered the phone could not believe it either but promised to take care of the matter.Truck turned off at Goshen,NY.I am assuming it came from NY State Thruway and possibly NYC(cesspool/armpit of the world)Not really a trucker unless you count my Silverado, but are you not supposed to walk around your truck after a stop and do a check.I think I would have removed the lettering even if I had to buy a can of paint remover and remove the lettering.I can't believe things have progressed to this point now and I feel for you folks that are LEO'S now.

When you hook your trailer you usually are under orders to haul *.
Nevertheless I would not travel far if I hooked that trailer. Now that I think of it I believe most truck stops sell paint, maybe red primer, whatever.
Either that, or I would be stopping at a WalMart, which can be tricky, but I would be stopping real quick and covering that graffitti.
And, yes, you are required by law, and common sense, to inspect the trailer before you ride.
They contacted us once, and asked if we would be on lookout for a certain truck of theirs. We found it, the driver had a tragic death in his family, they had him picked up and flown home immediately, and sent another driver to take the rig and load. I call that a damn good co. to work for.
You never know when someone want to be an * and pull your pins or 5th wheel. Seen it done and have it done to me. I even had lights stolen off my trailer. Worst thing that was ever done to my trailer was that someone broke the seal and that was an nightmare. State Police had to be called in. Nothing was really done, they put on an new seal on and log it in. Since it was padlock, nothing was taken.
Driving is nothing but a PITA, Don't do it, it's a trap.
