So what's the deal with NY state

Is democracy working? I mean is it really a consensus that wants to disarm the people or are NY'ers being ruled by a tyrannical minority government. In other words are these people who are making the laws doing what most of the people want? It would be interesting to conduct a thorough statewide survey. Just wondering...

Is democracy working? Yup. A majority of the state representatives elected by the voters are now screwing the population. Sounds like democracy to me.

Democracy is two wolves and a sheep discussing what to have for supper.

NY is a highly divided state and simply put it is the metropolitan areas against the rural areas. With the vast majority of the population living in the metro areas and drinking the liberal Kool aid those who live in the mostly rural majority of the state have a tough way to go.
Our vast forests and rural lands are ruled by those who dwell in concrete jungles.

Hopefully, this will spark a fire and cause many who typically stay home on election days to get out and vote these morons out of office.

Who cares "what most of the people want"? The Constitution is not subject to popular vote. It is the Law of The Land! Don't like it then work to change the document. Until such time as it is changed these laws that are passed are Unconstitutional; whether popular or not.

I agree completely with you on this. The constitution has been ammended more than once, mostly for the better.

Could anyone imagine if a state passed a law that you had to register your religious affiliation. The populace would be enraged at the violation of the first ammendment.

It's too bad NY state can't seperate from NYC. NYC is filthy, discusting, nasty place. They are rude, the streets are full of trash, don't even think of driving there.
But, you go into upstate NY and it's like night and day. Beautiful mountains, lakes, streams, woods. It is a very nice place. It would seem everything bad gets sucked into NYC. I've been to NYC once and that was too many times. I'd go back to upstate NY any time, to visit of course, because NYC makes the rest of the state pay for thier scum bag ways.

Maybe "upstate" should declare its independence... You'd be outlaws for a while but a hundred years from now they might be having auto sales celebrations on your birthday :)
