How many of you talk to your Mom

edited March 2013 in General Discussion
everyday.[?] I call my Mom everyday to tell her I love her and to see how everything is going with my parents. I cherish that phone call each day and I am glad were really close. My mom is 69 and in good health, so I hope I will have her around for a long time. I talk to my father about once a week because he is always busy doing something. They have been happily married for 52 years.

It's a very rare occurrence if I miss a day.

It's been a few weeks, but I don't call anyone.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Just chatted w/my mom about 3hr ago.
I chat or visit her sporatically during the week.

Dad passed away a few years ago but, I in fact, actually barked at him today on my return trip with Llamagirl from a shopping spree that I needed some help with a problem this weekend (he knows what) and it would be greatly appreciated.

I know dad's around when I smell Lilacs or Tiger Lillies, his two favorite flowers.

My Mom will turn 84 next week.

Talk to her at least 3 times a week when I drive home in the evenings.

I feel very fortunate that my mother lives nearby, I stop by her house on the way to work every morning for a cup of coffee. She has always been an early riser as I am so this works great for both of us, wonder where I got that trait from. She stopped by the office this afternoon to let me know how her day went. She and a group of women from the church went dog sledding. A friend of mine has a you drive type dog sledding business about 45 minuets from here and set the girls up with 4 and 5 dog teams according to weight and ability. Mom was a little disappointed in the fact that the sled ahead of hers was slow and she wanted to let the dogs run. You would never suspect she's 78 cause she still acts like a kid.
Lead me not into temptation as I seem to find it often myself !

    A couple times a week...
She's remarried now so she's in her element.

Mine was close enough that I could visit every week and a brother or sister went to see her every day. She died at 90++ in 2006 and spent only 6 months in an assisted living center where I visited every day. I really miss mine, Oakie, so hold yours as close as you can.

    Clouder..

It's been 4 years since I've talked to my mother and I don't plan on starting back up any time soon. We had a falling out of sorts after her and my dad got a divorce. I don't talk to him that much anymore either, maybe once a month if that. I don't have a whole lot of contact with my family in general. There is the occasional chat with my sister and brother though.

Nope. She was a mother due to biology only and when I turned old enough to be on my own, she turned even worse. Then when my wife held a surprise 30th birthday party for me, she treated my wife like dirt also. Oh yeah, not to mention the $20,000.00 she stole from me. So NO we don't speak much.

I unfortunately have a similar story, my Mother informed me that our adopted children would never be real Grandchildren to her. I'm sad to say we haven't spoken in fifteen years.

Would be creepy since she has been dead since 2001. But the BF and I talk to his mom everyday, which I think is sweet.

Wow reading some of these is almost as sad as the song thread. Both my parents have passed on. I still talk to them though.

I spoke to mine for about one Hour... In my whole life!

She called me looking for my half brother, (whom I have never met), while she was passing through town.

I called my older Brother who lived with her for a couple of years, and we went to see her.

She told me that she wanted to come for a visit in a couple of weeks, that she had something important to tell me.

    Then she up and Died!

Mom's been gone for about eight years.
Sometimes when I work in the area, I stop by the cemetary.
    I was there Tuesday.

Mom is 86, Dad is 88. I call 3 or 4 times per week, more often if there is a problem, like Dad being in the hospital for 3 days last week.

I am not real close with my mom.

She beat my * with that wooden paddle, too many times when I was a little kid. I used to think she was a crazy b****.

Everyday I go to her house which is just out the road from me. Today I cut and brought her some wood as she is about out, the winter has dragged on and took a lot.
