My sister, Kathy, just called. A friend of hers has an M1 garand and a marlin 357 for sale. He wants 600 to 800 for both. I will see the guns Sunday. Maybe I could get a nice deal. The garand has a bayonet with it. Don't know the manufacture or any other info yet. We will see Sunday. I bought the Springfield xd 45 for 350. I pick it up Monday.Don't really want it, but the deal was right. Guess I should play the lottery this week[;)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]

The way prices ahve been, you can by both and sell the Marlin to break even.
I honestly don't know what they are worth. They might be junk or they could be like new. I will have to do some research to see what the guns are worth.I want the 357 but will sell the Garand if I buy it.
I went to look at about 30 guns 15 years ago or so. An old guy had them, and he gave an old list of what he had. I had a wad of cash with, just in case. The list showed Winchester Model 12 Trap guns, Browning Superposed 12 ga, Remington 11-48 and 1100 Trap guns, Heym single barrel trap gun, etc.......I bought them all for $2000.00
Almost every one had gotten wet at one time or another when his basement flooded! The old guy started crying when I opened the cases. The lining of the cases was rusted to some of the guns!
He knew he had basement flood years ago, but forgot that he stored his fathers guns there 20 years prior, after his Dad passed away. It would have easily been $25,000.00+ if they weren't ruined.
