Anyone have a good home-cure for this malady?

My brother had some when we were kids, back in the 70s. He had to go to the doc, and have them dug out. Wasn't too fun IIRC. I ended up with them too, a couple years? later. I would dig at them with my pocket knife, and put iodine spray for cows on them. Took a while, but I got 'em. [;)]

Just saw a while back on tv? that because a wart is a living organism, and breaths, this person would cover the wart with duct tape, and it would die.

I figure I will give that a try if I ever get another one.

    duck tape
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

I had mine frozen at the doc... Two trips. So far it hasn't returned...
If it looks like it will... I'll go the Duct Tape route ans see what happens...

Wonder why some people are prone to warts, and some are not?
I have never had a wart of any kind in my life, but know a number of folks that are constantly having them frozen off.

'Plantar fasciitis' is not warts but the plantars part is correct.

You can try the doctor sholls kit that burns them off.

Ive had a few and had the doc dig them out, I didnt think they are painful. personally I think thats the best way done and over with and dont have to deal with it anymore. When they are real small sometimes you can catch them with the methods described here.

My personal experience - I had two on my hand, one on my knee, and a patch about the size of a nickel on my foot. They froze them off. That did nothing. Had them dug out. Hurt like hell and they came back in a year. I went to a specialist. He said to soak my foot (since that was the largest concentration) for 30 minutes in warm water. Then spread Retin-A (retinol) on them before going to bed. They went away on their own.

He explained the theory behind it. The retinol basically makes the body realize that there is something there to fight (since plantar warts are a virus) and takes care of it. Thats why the ones on my hand and knee went away as well even though I was only spreading the retinol on my foot. That was 8th grade that I got rid of them and I'm 33 now with no return plantar warts.

Was forced by Spousal Unit to watch Doctors show on the mental wasteland, and they had a segment on Plantar Warts - seems they said that those are yet another manifestation of HPV, Human Papilloma Virus!!!

I had one when in Elementary School! Guess My "Daddy" was running around?? Maybe I got it in Shower, or Camp? I did run barefoot a TON in those days (The 50s).

Had one on my foot in 1962, Doc "froze" it and cut it out. Hasn't grown back.

I had a patch of them, a doctor friend had a laser cosmetic business and he had me come in. I went for two laser treatments, a while later they fell out and never came back. The laser felt like someone sticking a hot nail in your foot.

My Dad used to get Plantar's Warts on his feet. He did the Doctor's visit/frozen treatment, all gone.

    I've been lucky, no warts.
