Sub 2000 woes... FIXED IT! WOOHOO!

Took my new Sub 2000 to the range yesterday to shoot it for the first time since purchasing it last winter. I think I managed to get three rounds downrange. The cartridges kept jamming up on the feed ramp. They'd go part way and then the top of the bullet would hit the top of the chamber and the brass would hang on the feed ramp. Wedged a couple of 'em in there pretty tight.
I tried 2 different types of ammo and all did the same thing.
I guess we'll see how good KelTec's lifetime warranty is...
Dammitall!

I never seemed to find the time to get this thing sent back to KelTec. I watched a couple youtubes about it and figured I'd try polishing the chamber. Bingo! Took the Dremel to it with one of the felt pads and a little polishing compound. Was at the range 20 minutes later and ran three 15 round mags through it without a hiccup. Shot another 30 or so rounds at various targets and had one FTE. I think a little more wearing in and it'll be good to go. Yay!

My Sub2K in .40, has been flawless.

A fluke, or as others have mentioned, a mag issue.

Kel-Tec, if needed, has an awesome Customer Service dept.

    Good luck.

I tried 3 different factory Glock 15 round mags (G35), 2 factory Glock 13 rounders (G23), and 2 Korean 30 rounders. No dice with any of 'em. Grumble, grumble...

You sure you didn't have some of those obsolete .40 rounds in the mag's? [;)]

Mine in .40 is also flawless.
I think that you will find KelTec's customer service to be most excellent, I had a buddy that bought a used (beater) KelTec pistol and he took it in to be checked out (he lives near the plant) and they replaced every warn part, test fired it and gave it back like new NO CHARGE .

Let us know how you were treated.

Did you break in the mags before you took it to the range? You should leave them full bullets for about two weeks before you use them to break in the mag springs . I don't know if that is the problem, but it might be

I've never heard of breaking in a magazine before. That said, I've had these mags for upwards of eight years and regularly use them in my Glocks. Never had a hiccup out of either pistol, even with the 30 round Korean mags.

My 9mm Sub 2K ran flawlessly when I shot it. Like Joe said, I'd polish the feed ramp a bit and give it another try before sending it back.

Make sure you are holding it tight into your shoulder that straight blow back recoil system doesn't work if held loosely. No one handing that gun either.

Buddy of mine had the 40SW and was having same problems you described. I grabbed it, pulled it in tight to my shoulder, and blasted away.

Korean Glock 30+ mags are crap. They have 2 metal mag bodies with tons of plastic flashing between them inside the mag tube.

Is this their version 1 or 2?
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain
