copper at 3.00 a pound equal........A new Remington model 700 in 204 ruger[:)][:)][:)] I just scraped my copper for the summer and took the money and ordered a new gun. Not bad for three months of scrap copper.

    Its all used refrigeration copper from when I install new ac units.

    My Dad use to sell copper he accumulated from old neon sign transformers...he would burn out the tar that was used for insulation,then clean the copper.. made real good money..

    Hate to say it, pwillie, but that tar probably contained PCBs.
    Probably ok if he didn't breath the smoke.
    We still have a lot of florescent ballasts at the plant that contain PCBs. Safety Dept. goes apey when one shorts out.

    Went to the recycler yard yesterday and turned in a 5 gallon bucket of cases and some plumbing brass and 1 bad car battery. Got $123.20. So guess what, this morning I went to my local dealer and blew $48.50 on reloading supplies [:)] Next stop - beer distributor and state store [:D]
