chronic back pain - gone?

I have had chronic back pain for the past 15 years or so. Whenever I did anything, I knew I'd pay for it for at least a few days after if not a week. It really curtailed much of what I chose to do. Well 4 months ago I quit driking all softdrinks 100% cold turkey. In fact, I quit drinking everything accept water, beer and wine. I realized recently that I haven't had any back pain in months. This weekend I did a small building project lifting and nailing heavy boards and no after effects at all.
I am wondering if my large quantity of diet sodas, coffee and other crap had enlarged my kidneys or something like that causing them to interfere with my back.
Anyway for the first time in a long time I am lower back pain free and very happy about it! Any of you that are suffering the same, if you can generate the will power, quit drinking all but water and see if it helps you too. I'd be interested in finding out.
Now if only I can find out what is bothering my hip!

Lay off soft drinks (beer too can aggrivate it) - drink water and juice - the results are great.

Interesting. If you ever feel like doing it, got back on drinking soft drinks and see if the back pain returns. That would tell you for sure what happened. Course you would then have to go through withdrawl from soft drinks again.
I have long felt soft drinks are bad for your body.
When I see a can of coke I see a skull and crossbones on the label.
That stuff is nasty, among a lot of other crap, it is either loaded up with lots of sugar, or lots of chemical sweetners.
Coke can be purified by this one technique. To 4 ounces of Coca Cola add 2 ounces of Bacardi Rum.
As much as a pint of Coca Cola per night may be purified in this fashion.
Other than purified coke I haven't had a soft drink in ten years.
My wife says all sodas are filled with mico toxins, and are all bad for us!
It's not just the drink itself. I believe the aluminum
container is somewhat at fault also..

My wife says the same thing. She says artificial sweeteners are the worst thing for you. If she drinks one, the joints in her neck and shoulder ache. (She won't hardly touch one.)

I've thought about that but getting over the diet coke addiction is really hard!
I don't drink any Carbonated drinks at all, and very seldom drink anything with artificial sweeteners, but DO still have back pains from various wrecks, falls, fights, and overloads throughout my life....Hmmm, maybe I need to purify all my (Distilled) water with some Judiciously applied Scotch??
Enough of that and you won't care if your back hurts.
Sort of joking sort of.... your back can either adjust in rare cases or the damage is going into it's next phase. Sometimes the cure (adjustments and therapy is worse than what you were dealing with for 15 years). As discs that are ruptured are causing problems they can go into a stage of end failure that relieves the pain the years of distress were causing.
Don't pay a bit of attention to me, I've just heard things here and there and my back has bothered me for some time. It goes through stages but I find that if I use prudence and refuse to help friends with stupidly heavy things it feels a lot better. [;)] Take care of it, don't overdo it because it is feeling better, that will kill it.
My Buick Stage 1 was prone to spinning rod bearings, it would pull the front wheels into the air off the line, that starved the rear bearings and caused the bearings to spin. If I took it a bit easier that didn't happen, sort of the same thing. I'll shut up, don't want to inflame the Audi demons....
