Get a big belt and suspenders if you want to carry all those....

I have the New Agent and love mine.

I have a "commander size" Para (which is a hunk of crap)....and its honestly too much for me to hide under summer-weight clothes.

    No experience with the Kimber

Is this intended to be a "full time" carry or something you're rotating?

I've carried a Kimber Ultra CDP.

    It's a heavy carry.

Kimber all the way, I've owner a few, and shot many more, non were disappointing in any way.

I've got one friend who has the super carry ultra and loves it as a ccw. My brother is about to buy a super carry ultra+ as a daily carry for work (he's a city detective).

I'd say get a Colt and be happy. My preference? The Agent, but I'm always leery of people who say "less than 100 rounds through it"...as if there was any way to tell. Why not just say it's used and be done with it?

The Commander is good, too, but if you're going to wear it day in and day out it might be too much, as some have said.

    Just my opinion.

The Kimber is a fine gun and will hold its value.

The Colts are fine guns and will probably appreciate in value.

    My carry guns by frequency of carry are;

    1. Glock 27............................all seasons
    2. Ruger LC9..../

    3. Kimber Stainless Covert............................................winter
    4. Glock 23......................../

Not sure about the others But my Kimber Ultra Covert is the same size as the Kimber. Real nice for a short Gun. But it is now a Safe Queen as I Carry a Para Warthog most of the time. Except during the summer then its a Keltec .380.

Just found out they have an even better Warthog than I have. Time to save up again.

I've had a like for short 1911s ever since I bought my first Detonics MkI about 1978 or so. I still have it and a MKVI along with a Colt Defender and a Springfield EMP.

First question - are you carrying 9mm or 45 ACP? I had a little trouble opening the links and am not clear whether the Agent in 9 was "gun example" only and not caliber.

I've no experience with the Kimber, the Defender I have is basically a stainless Agent with sights. What I like about the short Colt is that mine has always gone "bang". The Colt isn't tightest, most refined but the thing always works. I've switched out some of the plastic parts, done a litte ergonomic work to it but so far as reliability it's stock. I think you'd have the same results with the Agent.

My gripe with all these guns is that the grip is too long. Short barrel is fine, but on a CCW gun I much prefer the Detonics length that gives the gun a height of about 4".

If you are going with 9mm consider the EMP. The grip is the same length but narrower, the gun is built around the smaller 9mm case. It's an excellent, well made gun but like 3 out of 4 of my Springfield purchases had to be sent back straight out of the box for correction. Blown primers sticking in the breech face firing pin hole thanks to the titanium FP with heavy FP spring set up they use to pass CA's "drop test" and not use an FP block. It works great now, love the gun.

    Hands down the Kimber.

The Ultra Carry II is small, lightweight aluminum frame and super performance and quality. Very comfortable carry piece and conceals easily.
