What is this used for? I don't have the rings. Would it be worth auctioning?
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly

Or referred to as tip off mounts. They were designed to let you use iron sights or your scope. The scope would pivot to the side and you were on your iron sight's.

There might be somebody with antiquarian interests out there who has a pair of Weaver pivot rings and would bid on it, but you'd need to specify what action(s) the bases fit.

When a scope in such mounts is pivoted off to the side to reveal iron sights for quick shots, it throws the firearm off balance and makes it awkward to mount smoothly.

    Thanks for the info.

A firearms enthusiast used to live in this house and the guy I bought it from left some gun relate items behind.

My experiences with the pivot mounts have been less than satisfactory. [:(]

I know of more game lost than taken, using those mounts. [:(]

I can not picture the time that I would put them on any of my firearms unless to mount on a rifle that I wanted to get rid of, but figured that the appearance of a no name scope on the piece would be advantageous. [:0]

Of course these are my own honest personal opinions. [;)]
