A traffic jam I didn't get mad about.

I-29 South headed towards Kansas City this morning around 0900 I got caught at the near front of a big traffic backup running around 60MPH. I didn't take pics because I know when it's safe and when it's not and this time I just couldn't do it.

The backup was caused by a military funeral escorted by Patriot Guard and eventually police escort.

I just sat there, watching them and traffic, nobody made a move to go to the emtoy right lane, everyone just hung back. Sure a couple cars got impatient and weaved thier way to the front but when they saw why we were going slow they backed off.

Eventually the funeral moved over and allowed traffic to pass, nobody gunned it but instead drove by slowly. When I got up to them to go around I turned on all my lights, crept up to each bike and gave a light tap on the horn, when the biker looked I gave them a salute. When I got to the hearse I gave it a salute but no horn.

No, I'm not prior service but I worked with them and saw a lot of crap I shouldn't have, been in the "suck" with them so I feel connected in a strange way. They have my respect, always.
