I'll bet a Govt agency will buy them before they go on the block, to keep them out of private hands, more manipulation!

One 5.56 brass case weighs ~ 95 grams
So one pound of 5.56 brass would have ~ 74 +/- cases.
1000 pounds would be ~ 74,000 cases more or less.
72 per lb on 223.
Simple variation of just 2 to 3 grains would produce a variance of at least 2 rounds per pound.
That much variation could be had easily between differing manufacturers...
