Today it was a 1961 vintage Colt Trooper 357 magnum! Don't need no stinking holster when you're going into a combat situation!!! [:D]

    PB Picture removed.

However, this rig with a 1901 Waco, Texas 45 Colt is the one I should have carried today!!!!! [8D]

    PB Picture removed.

I like my Chesty Puller rig by Simply Rugged.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

These are the only 6 shooters I have here, 3 45s, one .357 and the Trusty Rusty Dan Wesson .22!

No holster pics as I don't have anything fancy, just Plain Jane leather for the 45s and Uncle Mikes for the rest.

Doc should recognize two of those 45s [8D]

My Sunday go to meeting rig.

    standard.jpg

Looked for one of these for 20 years and finally paid way too much for this one. A 357 with a 6.5" barrel (uncommon) and a ramp front sight (even more rare).

    standard.jpg

Another one I wanted badly. A 1950 4th Model 44 Special Target with a 5" barre. Wound up buying a pair of them.

    standard.jpg

I keep this in my pocket just for fun.

    standard.jpg

    This has a certain panache.

I'm a big believer in matched pairs, so I guess I better go out to the safe and get some picture subject, then I have to remember how to get them to my photbucket account.

how about a pair of 29-2's in 6 1/2 inch with some simply rugged leather?(oK, only have the holster to wear them one at a time, but every time I try to shoot them cowboy style one in each hand I just end up with skinned knuckles anyway)

do have a pretty neat saddle rig for a pair of 5 1/2" revolvers so I'll grab that while I'm out rounding up stuff to photo.

only difference is one of them is like new and the other I have carried and shot more and the stocks are a bit different shade.

holster by Rob Leahy at Simply Rugged, he also sent a speed strip but I found it after taking the pics.

my Ruger Bisley and Colt .45 ride in separate Tom Threepersons & belts from El Paso Saddlery. My single-six still graces the used Hunter it came with when I bought it at Cache La Poudre Sporting Goods in Ft Collins Colo in 1966.

this was an impulse buy at a local gun show, it's a set of pommel saddle bags, that hold a surprise. next pic.

    DSC04055.jpg

the surprise is so if you get attached by a grizzly from each side you are ready! pair of 5 1/2" ruger redhawks.

    DSC04056.jpg

this is a 1942 us Cavalry Stamped Scabbard, can one of you history buffs tell me what rifle would have went in it? it is all original except I had to have the left strap rebuilt when the old one dry rotted.

this is my everyday carry for horse rides a gun show bargain it's a 6" security six that had some finish wear, with a holster, bought it all for just over 200 cash, possible the most accurate one I have except for a 686.

    DSC04058.jpg

and this is the 686 in a rig from Mexico one of my buddies brought back from a whore taming trip. (the holster he brought back, not the whore)

Jesnlsn, the scabbard is for an M1 Garand. The brass box on the side fits over the op rod handle. They were used on MB and GPW Jeeps a lot during WW2. I had one, same date stamp too. Strapped it to the driver's side of the windshield frame on my CJ3A.

What does your horse think about you touching off a 44 mag while mounted?

    Those are nice looking though.

The scabbard is for a M1.

When I was at bit burg, due to a divorce I was forced to sell my Dan Wesson pistol pak, the Germans would all stop and wanting to find out who had a cannon,
I always made myself a promise I would find another, there was one being sold on gun broker, the guy lived south of me about 75 miles, I explained I was a disabled vet, and was wondering if he took take 3 payments, it cost me 1500. Now I have a 357 and 44 mag stainless pistol pak, hell will have to freeze before I sell another gun.

thank you guys for telling me what the scabbard was for, always thought the brass pocket was for a bolt handle, but it makes a lot more sense that it would be for a Garand.

the horses don't get shot off of, I should post a pic of my last (and only) bear encounter on horseback, probably could have dispatched him with a .177 pellet pistol! he was a little guy.
