The two sides are you think stealing is OK or you think its not OK, is that correct?

Baxton is a crook and should be treated like one. He got caught in a sting and should go to jail like anyone else, especially with his criminal past.

Oh yeh, thats NOT TYPICAL POLICE BEHAVIOR.

I was referring to the ones that defend the police no matter what and those that think they are the scum of the earth....

Kinda like the ones that defend soldiers no matter what? Even if what they have done is wrong? [;)][:D]

For both, the vast majority are decent and honorable. A few bad apples should not reflect on the majority. All professions have a few disappointing members.

This happens all the time. I used to own a bodyshop and towing shop that did the towing for a major police force in ohio for many years. It was standard for some of the cops to go thru the cars and steal anything that was not nailed down. When the owners would ask me about it i would just tell them to go report it to the police dept as i had no command of what was in the car before i got on scene. I did always make an inventory of what was in the car when i towed it and had the cop on scene sign it. Whatever was in there before i arrived i was not responsible for.
Not all the cops did it but i would say about 1/3 of them did and to those cops i told them after a while to not loot the cars as i was sick of answering the owners questions of where did it go and if they wanted anything just ask and if i had it at the shop from junked cars i would gladly give it to them or sell it dirt cheap.

"The town really can't catch a break when it comes to law enforcement officials."

    Huh??? WTH??? Are they serious?

You hire a chief with felony convictions and you think this is bad luck? Un-freeking-believable?

And no, this is not typical police behavior, but it is getting more typical all the time.

That happened to some firemen around here a few years ago. They put the fire out at a store and took a few things on the way out the door.

That is typical of the "It couldn't possibly be MY fault!" mentality that a lot of people seem to have.

Funny....I have never had a problem with the police. Even (once or twice when I was still a punk kid) when I was the reason they were there, I was not treated badly.
