Got me one last night, with my Park Ave. Came around the bend and there she was, right in the middle of the road over the double yellow lines. I swerved left, she turns around and runs right in front of me. I was able to drive the 8 miles home, but with massive damage. I was going around 50 when I hit her. Waiting for the damage estimate form the insurance company. Sucks. Its a 2004 and its getting very hard to find one of these cars that doesnt have a billion miles. GM was stupid to quit making them. They are some of the best cars GM ever made.

STUPIDEST RULE EVER...and that's why the highways are littered in PA, to the point where if you are traveling on the Interstates you can almost tell when you get to PA, because there's a dead deer ever 1/4 mile.

No one wants to sit around waiting for 3 hours before some DNR doofus comes out and "allows" you to salvage some meat.

    Idiots.

Here in AZ, we fill out a little index card, pre paid to the Game and Fish Dept.

Last one that got hit in front of me, up in Flagstaff, the guy didn't want it. I finished it off with a .45, and then Flag PD showed up, asked me a couple questions, handed me the card, even mailed it for me, and me and the (then) wife put the deer in the back of our truck.

That makes sense...the rotting carnage on Pennsylvania's roadways does not.

Here in GA it is now legal to keep the deer. If you hit a bear, you can keep it also, but have to notify the DNR within 24hrs.

The game comission grants contracts to remove roadkill. It pays per animal. The reason you cant "finish off" the critters is becasue every redneck (and PA is full of them) would be out hunting with his pickem up truck, or would be spot light hunting and just say it was road kill if they got caught. Thats why they put these laws on the books in the first place. In my case....it was VERY dead. Not only did I hit the deer, it also got run over and drug for about 1/4 mile. It was a damn bloody mess with no ggod meat left anyway.

After growing up in that vile den of nepotism, I'd say it's far more the FORMER, with the LATTER used as rationale.

EVERYTHING in PA is a mutual back-scratching hello session. Every agency in the Commonwealth is full of relatives and spouses, and you don't get hired by an agency unless you fill an Affirmative Action hire slot or you have political pull, as in relatives in that agency.

My Dad still lives there half the year, and snowbirds out here to Free America for winter, the last few years, he has seen and documented illegal dumping into the creeks by some trucking company who has "connections". He's taken pics and called all over.

Guess what...no one cares. Because they've paid off the people they need to.

God I hate that place. Same as it ever was. Corrupt to the core and nothing ever changes.

This is the reason why we are one of the original 13 states, and only have had 1 POTUS. Our politics are famous for being corrupt, and we have the biggest state government in the nation, even bigger and more expensive to run than Commiefornia! But its home, and very pretty here with four seasons, and generally the government leaves you alone....for the most part. Just pay your income, sales, property, gas, and excise taxes on booze, beer and smokes and your golden......if you have nay gold left. On second thought, I must be nuts for still living here......must get out!!!

Like a lot of places, without the self-serving toads in the gubmint, it'd be perfect.
