I suppose it is a function of population and how gun friendly the state is.

We have less than 500 in SD but have a low population.

There are 1600 people for every FFL in SD.

The raw numbers are cool, but the more interesting statistic would be the number of state residents per FFL holder. Some of our western low population states might have some interesting stats. [:D]

Virginia is not anywhere near the top of the list really.

Of course we dont use FFLs have the time....we just buy and sell private party.

Il is 4th, I know IL is 5th in the nation for population, but I'd think the gun laws here would have a greater reduction in FFLs. Especially considering so much of IL's population is in Chicago were they go out of their way to get rid of old FFLs and block new ones.
