Morning , Does anybody have any experience
with The SR9c?
Reason being the gun comes with supposedly
a good trigger and Ambi safety.
I'm gonna give semi's one more try if I read
good reviews on this CCW.
Thanks you

I shot the SR9C today. A fine gun
once you get used to the trigger
and I can hit targets with it as well.
    Intimidation factor 4.
I just wonder how durable it is?

So, I go out and trade my G26 in for
an SR9c and shoot it,not bad but
I kind of thought the trigger was a bit gritty.
I tell my buddy (he has one) and he says you have to
clean all the gunk out of it and oil it.
"There's a ton of gunk in there"
Ok, I tear the whole thing down ,clean all the gunk
(which was minimal) out and reassemble it.
Now this goes against my grain.
When ever I buy a gun used or new I swabb the barrel
and shoot the hell out of it.
Not this time, I take it ALL apart clean it, put it back together and it don't release the striker when I pull the trigger.
I repeated this 4 times, no luck, even the trigger is messed up.
Called Ruger ,got a shipping label and out it
    goes Monday.
When I get it back I'm gonna trade it in for
    another Glock 26.
How can one pistol be so reliable and a snap to completely
strip but another be a freekin nightmare?
    Glock forever!!!!

Just disassembled the slide on a Ruger SR9C(compact) that's a range rental here with over 8000 rounds through it. Slide was filled with brass shavings inside the striker tunnel but the gun never missed a lick. These have been really good guns. Come with a 10 round and a 17 round mag and seem to fit most folks hands well. If you're looking for a good plastic pistol that runs as well as Glocks but with manual safety and better ergonomics, you should try one of these. Comes in .40 as well.

I have not had the pleasure to fire an SR-9c....however, I have fired both the full size SR-9 and the SR-40c and both of them were very reliable and had a very comfortable feel in my hand. I love the sights they put on them and I was actually very surprised at the accuracy they both gave.

I didn't care for the loaded chamber indicator, but I guess that is the "in, lawyer-proof" thing.

The trigger on the sr9c is every bit as crisp, although not quite as light as my kimber. The sights are outstanding and accuracy is phenomenal is you do your part. Im a big fan of them. However, if you plan to roll around in the dirt and mud, it will not keep running like a glock. If you shoot like normal people, you will love it.

Buy one, you will like it. If not you can re-sell it to me cheap [:D]

My SR9, full size, with lots of magazines in this photo:
    M590A1_small_zpsbbc3ae99.jpg

After owning this gun for a couple of years I'd like to add an SR9C too. Have been very pleased with it.

Fits my hand better than any double stack magazine 9mm I ever picked up.

Accuracy - My rapid fire and slow fire practice sessions leave me smiling.

Reliability - Not one feed or eject problem in over a thousand rounds. Not even when I deliberately shoot without cleaning it for several hundred rounds.

Though the trigger was good from the factory I was tempted to try a Ghost drop-in Ultimate 3.5 lb trigger. It got better! $20 well spent.

Consider trying the Ghost Trigger. Depending on what you want to accomplish they have drop in replacement trigger connectors or ones you trim and polish to your preference. Also for other guns, Glocks mostly.

See the link in my earlier post.

I went to a LGS and handled the SR9
(they didn't have a SR9c) and racking the
slide felt like a gritty sensation.
    I did see a Ruger MkIII with a 6 or 7"
bull barrel with humongous wooden grips
for $385. I've missed my MkII ever since the little
voice in my head told me to sell it yrs ago.
MkIII will be mine tomorrow if I get time.

If you don't like semis this offering from Ruger isn't going to cure that. Try a nice SIG, HK, or FNH.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life

Semi 22's are about the only semi gun
I can shoot reasonably well.Anything larger
    (caliber wise) I can't.
I can shoot a 22 revolver better than a semi
    but I can't see paying $700 for a 6 shot
Smith and I wouldn't want any other.
I don't know of any 9mm target revolvers?

I suggest renting various guns at your local range to find one you shoot well.

Only ever felt that with a dirty gun, of any make.

Gritty triggers, creeping triggers I have experienced in new guns. Had an AccuTek once, little .380 stainless steel thing, that had a nasty trigger right out of the box.

It could just need a good cleaning. The last Ruger I bought new was caked in cosmoline.

I love mine, easy take down and
    clean and re-up, more accurate
    than I am.
Only problem now I'm down to
    about 5000 rounds and cannot
find any on the shelves at
    gun shops.
