Tug Boat Lights

Since you guys are discussing train lights in another thread I will share this. Setting in the yard one night watching boats moving on the intracoastal waterway I observed a small outboard boat pulling a shrimp trawl. This guy had one of those hand held "million candle power" lights and he was shining it all over the place. A tug was coming from the opposite direction. Now it was a well lit night with a full moon and plenty of light from the houses along the bank. I watched the outboard light up the pilot house of the tug when they were maybe 75 yards away and thought how rude. Well maybe 30 seconds later he did it again. The third time he did it the tug hit him with his giant light and it was like God had said ENOUGH!!

That first thing just doesn't make any sense and how would I know if the damn boat was shiny? It was night time.[:)]

That sort of thing could blind a tugboat.

It would have been more proper to shine the light on his boat or structure, Better that than getting run over...
Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.

If it has been that long ago, just make something up.

It will be fine. Nobody will verify it.

In 1950 my Dad was stationed at Greenville Mississippi for flight training. He was flying a T-6 Texan at night and thought it would be great fun to drop low on the river and shine a tugboat with his landing lights. He said that when the tugboat illuminated him with its spotlight he was totally blind for about 30 seconds. All he could do was pull up and wait til he could see his gauges.
