You know that US unionized car maker that builds and imports cars from Australia and races them in NASCAR...

Chevy, yea that's the one..

They announced that production of the SS will cease in 2017 and the plant in Holden, Australia will close.

You think that maybe someone finally pointed out to them the part in NASCAR's rule book about only cars built in the United States are allowed to run???

Yes, The Caprice PPV, its for LE not public sale though if you're willing to pay I am sure there is a source. The Impala SS was brought back as the civilian version after the Caprice hit the market. Fast but much pricier than the Ford and Dodge so I imagine that hurt their competitiveness in the market.

Meanwhile over at Ford they sell nearly 106,000 Mustangs in 2016.

And just to be nice. I will not even mention anything about Toyota selling well over 300,000 Camary's last year.

LMAO.. Mustang has had higher sales for a very long time. GM sales in Camaros has been pretty consistant and they have done well. My wife has a Mustang. It is all about this country and not buying foreign JUNK. Hopefully you can understand this. Maybe.

    Let's see here..

Chevrolet builds a car in a foreign country, Using foreign workers, then turns around and imports that car into the US that was built by foreign workers at a foreign plant in a foreign country.

And you try to convince me that it is an American product?

Toyota has a plant right down the road from me here in WV where American workers build engines, transmissions and transfer cases. Ships them to another American plant located in the US where American workers build cars and trucks here in the US.

And you try to convince me that it is a foreign product?

"It is all about this country and not buying foreign JUNK".

All the while bragging about how good your Kubota tractor is and how you would rather hire foreigners (mexicans) to work for you.

Did you have to wear one of those extra special padded bicycle helmets while you were growing up?

Much prefer the camaro myself but I thought about buying the daughter a new Mustang for graduation. Simple reason, 3-4,000 bucks cheaper. She said she did not want it, hates Fords, and that I bought her brother a new RS Camaro and she expected the same. She is a valedictorian candidate, cheerleader, plays girls basketball and softball and goes to church every Sunday. What can I say, she will get a new red RS this year. This girl has been brought up right!!!! By her mother.

    she expected, EXPECTED??

shes in for some disappointment's i fear

not too thankful IMHO that she would be getting a new car handed to her free and clear

You folks are so easy. Every little word bent out of shape. Her thoughts her freedom to do what she wants. Heres one for y'all. I was the only one in my family tree NOT to work for GM. Say What? Went to my Uncle who was in charge of 22 Plants at GM and could not get work when I graduated. GM and other car manufacturers were laying off. Times were slow. I was pissed. I had a new car in mind, money to spent I hadn't even earned yet. So years later I met my Uncle and he thought I showed up for another go at GM. Not.. I came by to see how he was doing. I had gotten into Aerospace which in turn, because the money was better, I am where I am today. Automobiles... and here is one that will blow your minds. What started it... An old Datsun 280z my wifes brother owned. Towed that piece of junk home, painted it and got it running. Traded it for 2 Fords and some cash. Been wheelin dealin since. It is an addiction. I have bought Chevy's , Fords, Dodges, Jap junk, german quality every since. There is an * for any seat. Someone likes it. So if you run across some unusual piece, hollar out on my email. I do pay a finders fee for unusual documented automobiles.
