Is it just me, or is the quality of play in the NFL a joke these days?

The are only a handful of quality qb's.
Vinnie testaverdy is still playing. He was and is a mental midget. So is Rex Grossman, last years Superbowl loser.
Speaking of last years Superbowl. As a Chicago Bears fan I consider it an embarrassment that such a bad team could make it to the Superbowl.

I just don't enjoy watching it like I used to. It isn't really the protest thing--I'm used to idiots--but all the penalties and reviews have just greatly disrupted the flow of the game. It's like in baseball--which already moved pretty damn slow--and now that they're reviewing everything, it's more like watching courtroom maneuvering than an exciting sport.

Tough calls, bad calls, missed calls used to be part of the game. You just dealt with it, and part of dealing with bad calls and missed calls was the display of sportsmanship and respect for the game.

I'm going to try to watch the Skins and the Packers tonight. We'll see how it goes.

And yes, trying to follow and root for the Redskins might be main source of the trouble I'm having.

Now there are at least 11 NFL players that have a failed drug test. When they did away with the lockout they did immediate drug testing and now they are in court protesting that it was not fair to the players. At least 3 were Redskins. No names have been released yet because of legal issues.

Me, I never understood how "four" 15 minuet quarters can last all day. At least with baseball you know going in innings can last how ever long it takes to get it done [:D]. Also some of the calls like "unnecessary roughness" I didn't understand. It's a "contact" sport.

I haven't watched a single game this year...not sure I will. Partly because of the BS protests and partly because of all the changes in the rules.

I have picked up watching soccer more and more.

So, next year the rules have been changed for the NFL...

There will be no more hitting, all players will be required to wear inflatable sumo-wrestler suits. Every play will be reviewed by the refs...and then the democratic party and the republican party, the cops, the ACLU and in the event of a dispute, the independent party.

There will be 17 minutes of commercials for every 20 seconds of play regardless of game tempo. The yardage between the goal posts will be reduced to where they're touching each other. The field of play will be 1 yard. Touchdowns will result in a 15 yard penalty for un-sportsman like conduct, after which both teams will be required to go to a "safe place" on opposite ends of the field and have a 'timeout' for 15 minutes.

Coloring books and play dough will be mandatory. Any injury, including broken fingernails, will require immediate airlift to the nearest ICU (and attorneys will be onboard).

All team winners will be immediately suspended for the balance of the season.

Each player will be assigned an emotional counselor to consult with after every play.

And, EVERY, player will receive an MVP award for "participating" in every game.

    That is all.

I love watching my Seahawks spank the other teams. Although the Patriots game was awesome, too.

I will always love the NFL...however I agree that there are far too many yellow flags nowadays.

Rob Gronkowski 6"6" 265lb. all pro. Tight end for the patriots was hit so hard by a Seahawk defender that it perforated his lung.
The Hawks don't play with play doe or color books. Ask Gronkowski.

I don't understand how a bunch of people with college degrees can't even speak a correct sentence.

    Hunter mag.
Some of them can't. It's the school system but a guy just went on the Seahawks from high school. Could have been another team. Not sure. Richard Sherman of the Seahawks majored in communications at Stanford.

I could really take it or leave it. I agree that I don't like all the reviews and other things that slow down the game.. I do like that they moved back the extra point after the touchdown. That has already proven to change the game. I would like to see the game clock shortened. Or at the very least shorten it after the 2 minute warning. It would force the teams to play rather than work the clock. Maybe move the starting point for kickoffs that go through the goal posts back to the 10 yard line. Or let field goals be kicked in "punt" fashion if the team chooses to do so.
