A triple crown winner and the idiots are still racing him. The owner is a fool.

Well AP is a very very good horse IMHO. Looked to me like the gray horse that ran with him tried very hard to pinch AP on the rail. There was a lot of physical contact on the turn and the head on tv shot as they come out of the turn shows the gray horse's jockey still trying to pinch AP. That amount of banging takes a lot out of horses. The gray horse completely folded then. Yes AP lost, but it took two horses to beat him. JMHO.

Moot point,,,,,,they've already collected enough sperm for hundreds if not thousands of AI's,,,,,,he's the 'Stud' today but the breeding fame only lasts until the next 'great' shows up. And the semen lasts for years,,,,,,,at $200k per AI,,,,,,,
AI is not allowed in the thoroughbred industry, has to be a live cover

YEP,,seemed like they let Frosted really push him, and just didn't have enough left to stop Ice.

Correct,,,,,,,but those in other racing venues are interested to upgrade their breeding programs. And then there are those who want to be able to say this is the son/daughter of AP,,,,,,,,,'my horse is better than your horse,,,,,,[:D]

Well, actually no that is just not the way it works in the thoroughbred industry.

Breeding rights were sold before he became a Triple Crown winner. It is said that the price would increase if he became a Triple Crown winner. Speculation is that the price increased with each race won, so this is the reason to continue racing the horse. Don

Once you win the TC additional wins don't really matter..; you are king.
No AI is all about supply and demand of the Sires semen.

The rights were sold BEFORE the horse was a TC winner. So some wording was put into the contract about additional wins. Don

There are 8 weeks for the horse to rest before "Breeders Cup". I would be very surprised if a final decision on running that race happens unless they find some physical injury or problem. All athletes can have a bad day. That's why they play the game and run the race.
