After much frustration with the latest android update called "lolipop" I finally broke down and down graded back to the last "kit kat" version. I couldn't be happier that I did. Lolipop sucks!![xx(][xx(]

Interesting I don't didn't know which version I have, just checked I have KitKat. Does this try and automatically update you or do you have to let it?
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Well it prompts you to update, where your options are "update" or "postpone". I got the prompt first and updated (big mistake). After I cursed it for days, my wife's phone eventually prompted her. She kept hitting postpone until it stopped prompting her anymore.

But the entire interface is hosed. I can't stand the color schemes, they changed key features I liked and ones that I used a lot (like auto-dimming) stopped working properly.

My company phone was a Droid. I retired last October and turning that thing in at the office on my last day felt good. I don't even have a phone anymore.

My sister asked what if we have a family emergency and we need to call you? I told her...sis, I'm not a doctor so if anyone has an medical emergency tell'em to call 911. And if it's just bad news you want to relay to me...then don't 'cause I don't want to know about it. If anyone needs to get in touch with me they can send me an E-mail and if I feel like it I'll get back with them in a few days or, maybe not. [:)]

MrsFuns has 5, mine and the kids are on 4.x something..... It does not sound like ATT will push an update for my hardware to Lollipop..... (oh well....) I've really been waiting on Windows 10 to get stable before I get a new laptop, but my burner it seems has turned into a coaster maker. I think I will just use an external burner until I can get a new one....

Are you saying you want 5? It might have been tolerable if the color scheme was customizeable or if it... worked.

For a Woman, a Cell Phone is a Sceptre...

But, for a Man, a Cell Phone is nothing more than a Leash.

    I don't need no Leash!

I have not played with her phone enough to know if I like it or not. she asked me to investigate why it was not charging when plugged into the dock I got her in the car. (Same dock that my daughter and I have. ) Well... Turns out Samsung did not include a dock mode in the Galaxy 5, I bought that dock because it comes with a 9ft cable that I can tuck under the headliner and route under the weather stripping all the way to the power outlet under the glove box. There is a workaround, but I have to buy a different cable. Always something....

This being my first smart phone I was heretofore unfamiliar with "Dock Mode". After a bit of research, I found this, and I assume this is the solution you're referring to?

quote:Hi guys, I am from iBOLT so I can bring some clarity to this issue. On S3, S4 & Note 2 &3 Samsung featured "analogue audio out" through the microUSB connector. Of course you had to have the right cable that put the phone into "dock mode" which triggered this functionality. However, in their infinite wisdom Samsung decided to remove this permanently on Galaxy S5, Note 4 & future handsets. This was unbelievable as almost all no car between 2004-2011 features A2DP Bluetooth chip set that allows for sound from Apps to be transmitted via Bluetooth, although many have Bluetooth hands-free built in and the aux-in port. Even some newer cars do not include the A2DP, only in the "navigation/premium package" that dealers. However, we have finally worked with vendors to come up with a great solution.

Our solution is the "Bluetooth streamer charger", see attached pic and link below. This is a 2.1 Amp USB car charger (a must on the S5 & Notes) with built-in Bluetooth receiver and a curly cord with aux-out. Simply plug the charger into the 12 Volt outlet and the aux curly cable into your aux-in port. Pair with your Android phone. Select "media only" (assuming you have another hands-free solution for phone calls) and from this point your App sounds (GPS, Music etc) the Bluetooth charger will automatically connect with your phone when you turn the ignition on and it will stream your music etc into the car speakers. For charging, just plug a standard charging cable into the car charger.

This concept is a great solution since the Bluetooth receiver is built-into the car charger it never needs separate charging. If you plug it into a power outlet that starts and stops with ignition (most but not all does this) it will also connect every time you step into the car.

We just activated a "Charging kit" today on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/iBOLT-miniPro...0LZZRCXW&pebp=1422703957006&peasin=B00LZZRCXW but we also have the BT Charger by itself for $29.95. http://www.amazon.com/iBOLT-Charge-...id=1422716930&sr=8-1&keywords=ibolt+bluetooth Let me know if this solves the problem? It should... I personally use it every day in my 2008 BMW X5 that does not have Audio streaming. Ask any questions and I'll try to answer...

And in case anyone is curious as to what is involved to roll back the OS (it's quite involved) this is the procedure I followed:
