I heard on the 17th everyone on ssi could no longer buy a gun from a dealer. anyone know if this is true?

    thats decided the day you get approved by ssi, i know several people that have a representative payee , most are on ssi for being bi-polar or schizophrenic

    Well, technically all EO's expire the last day that any president is in office. In practice most federal agencies continue to apply EO's with a new president, unless they are ordered otherwise. Dubya left all of Slick Willie's EO's in effect, not because he approved of them, but because he was naive & not very smart.

    Being diagnosed schizophrenic, bipolar, or just plain bat guano crazy doesn't keep you from being able to possess firearms; you've got to be adjudicated a mental defective, or committed to a mental institution for > 30 days. That rarely happens (lack of resources & general apathy). Same thing for a "bad" military discharge, which should have kept that nut from shooting up the Ft Lauderdale airport.

    Sorry guys, you are confusing schizophrenia with multiple personality disorder, now known as dissociative identity disorder.

    Almost daily I see some guy standing alone in the median or on the sidewalk carrying on half of an animated conversation. So you are right in the sense that the voices keep you company.

    I'm bipolar. Went below 60? South in 1964 and above 60? North in 1983. I'm an OAE, Old Antarctic Explorer, and a member of the Order of the Blue Nose. I never have understood what that has to do with buying a gun. [:0] [:D]
