I was supposed to have my new toy tomorrow....Savage 10FP with Zeiss Conquest that I bought on GB last week, but my FFL took his sweet time getting them his info so now I don't get it until Friday. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm like a little kid on Christmas Eve.....well now it's like December 23rd.[:(!]

As some of you know earlier this year the company I work at the Engineer retired and they have decided to not replace him.

He was the type of guy that when told to make some thin he would no question, like if some thing failed He would not try to find out why just put in a Band aid. Which may or may not help.

So we had a Item fail earlier this week. Last year I designed up a new piece that should have prevented this. So in Wed Meeting they Brought out a new improved seal which should solve the problem. They ask me what I think of it.

So I start asking question Like was it a new improved Item that failed or an old one. How long had it been in service. Where did the part pail(like where did the leak start). Just got blank stares. Not one answer but was again asked what did I think of the new piece.

So they got a stare back. PS the piece they made new, I made two years ago and was told by Upper Management it would not work. The same guy who sent down what he wanted, was the one who said my Idea would not work.

    Getting time to retire.

1st let me say that GB is the only site I use. I'm just a little frustrated by being out bidded on firearms by people who join and bid on the same day. I just don't know who sits back waiting on one item to appear then join and bid. Just a little frustrating[:)]

Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Been having this problem with Locust Fork auctions. Bid on dozens of her guns. But I never win. Just because she always lets somebody bid up higher than me.

    Pretty sure it's a conspiracy.

I should file a "NON-WINNING BIDDER" report with GB Auction Support.

Don't be so cheap. Bid until you win then complain you paid to much.

People may drop a low bid the first day, but the last 30 minutes of an auction is when the real bidding starts. Might as well get used to it.
Give GB credit for having the 15 minute rule. EBay has no such option.

Thanks for the responses, why then don't the (NR) bidders bid first? I agree with all comments but it's still frustrating. I'm not trying to win a $600 gun for .25 cents. The minimum bid is premium retail[:)]

If the minimum bid is premium retail I would pick a different auction and seller.

    Are you claiming shill?
Some will die in hot pursuit

    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life

Then go to a gun store and buy it and you also don't have to deal with paying for shipping. The final price is what someone is willing to pay. If you don't want to pay the prevailing amount then don't bid. That is just the way it works here. If someones willing to pay more then don't come here and complain about it.

A lot still paly the ebay game that migrate over to GB , I have sold items or bid just to watch the last 20 seconds the price double. triple + in the selling price sometimes ,
when I first started many years ago people would bid all week long to stay ahead . then they and I figured out jump in the last few seconds with your best offer if you win great if you loose there will be more .
I like the 15 minute rule GB has depending on if your asleep when the auction closes . It gives the bidders a chance to up there bid if they wish . as a seller its great rule . as a buyer its a double edge sword . but I really would like to flebay use the same rule
everyone likes a deal best advise put in the most your willing to pay let it ride . loose wait on the next one

many on here have same boat

I hate it when I am out bidded too. The Captain should make a rule against this.

He did. It's the "Bid Highest" rule.

    EXACTLY!

We need a "Non-Winning Bidder" option on the GB User Support Page!!!

Blasted sellers! Always selling to the highest bidders! Just because there's more money in that dubious and discredited business practice!

Bad Sellers! No A+ for you!!!

Its an auction. High bidder wins. I personally like the 15 minute rule as a buyer. If it is an item I want bad enough it lets me keep bidding until I feel it is too rich for me. Items I am not that hung up on I will make my final bid and walk away. I also usually wait until late in the game to start bidding.

I hear you. Fortunately, nothing irritates me more on my M1 auctions than when the bid sits stagnant for days on end, and then with two hours to go, new bidders pop up and drive the price higher.

    It just irks me.

Add green font for those of you who are from another planet.

I understand there's nothing worse , I do hope you have that taken care of when I am back in the saddle and wanting to buy one of your m1's ( well that's all the time ) I mean when I have the $$ to do so [:D][:D][:D]

Ps I might find one cheaper but with your seal of approval and inspection postings I will just wait it out [;)]

Thanks for all the responses. I hope I raised some awareness about (NR) bidders joining and bidding on the same day. Noone responded to my question though; why don't they bid first instead of running up the bid? I'm finished with this topic and will not respond further.[:)]
