Chinese B3-2 pellet gun danger??

Was doing a little research on the above and there seems to be a real danger associated with it.

Apparently the bolt can slam foreward as you are loading a pellet and that can cause the loss of finger tips.

Have any of you heard about this?? Recon how often it happens?? I believe if it were common, the US would ban imports. Tom

It happened just that way with one that I had several years ago. I had lent it to a friend for some bird control, and he very nearly lost a fingertip when the innards broke and the lever slammed shut.

David, that is really scary since these are probably bought for kids as a first gun. With thumb and forefinger in the chamber loading a pellet, it could very easily take the ends off both digits.

I've seen what an M1 can do to a thumb and it ain't pretty!!

One guy showed how he modified his by drilling a hole across the chamber and inserting a pin through and then loading a pellet.

I will do said modification on mine before it is shot again.

I will pass this info onto anyone I see who has one of these. Best, Tom

Crazy! I'll stick to my Crossmen air rifle. It don't bite at all. :)

I sent mine to Judge Dread (remember him?) to see what the problem was. This was the sort of thing that Dread did for a living, examining and diagnosing structural failures. He said the innards collapsed on themselves.

That's a danger with any sliding chamber spring piston.

Your fingertips always depend on an anti beartrap mechanism, with those, if they even have an anti beartrap mechanism.

It may be especially bad with certain models though.
