I found a really good product, it works

If you listen to Beck you have heard some about SHAVE SECRET, the shaving product that eliminates the foamy stuff in a can.

It really is the best shave product I have ever used. Wet you face, put 3-4 drops in your palm rub it into you face and start shaving. If a spot feels like it needs more lube add more water from your hand and keep shaving.

Your razor will last longer, plugging up less. It has a very pleasant almost clove like smell when you first apply it leaving a light baby oil like scent when done. Your face will be baby-* smooth and soft, no skin burn, no foam still in your ear.

I highly recommend this product.

I looked it up and Wally World has it.

HEB (Texas grocer) has it also.

    Navy Exchanges also has it.

I got it at Wal Mart in the shaving cream section; it is just a little plastic squeeze eye dropper like bottle. I think it was 3.50. I would guess it will last at least 2 months.

Thanks! I was looking for a shave product to go in my travel kit; something in a small container that has enough product for a week or two of shaves. I'll try this.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

My dad (age 69) tells me that it's no 'secret.' Until the 60s, all premade shaving formulas were oils or gels that came in a tube. Then for some reason the foams caught on. I never got that. Think about it; the part that is doing the work is only the millimeter or so in contact with your skin; why do you need an inch of foam on top of it?

Personally I use a brush and mug with shaving soap in it so it isn't an issue either way. A cake of glycerin-rich soap will last 4 months. The brush helps the hairs stand up on end, whereas fingers mat them down.

I also use an old fashioned double edge razor with the clamshell top. Much easier to clean, and blades are about a dollar per ten at the Family Dollar store... compared to 20 bucks for 5 for the fancy ones. Occasionally I will use a straight razor just to keep me honest.

Shaving is one area where newer most definitely is NOT better.

I did try an electric for awhile. When I was in high school, we had to shave daily. Catholic school. Grandma bought me a good Remington electric for my 14th birthday. I mean, not just some cheapo, this thing cost over a hundred bucks. Let's put it like this: the amount of time I spent rubbing myself raw trying to get it to pick up the hairs that were just NOT going into the cutters convinced me after a year (as my beard got thicker) to give it up in favor of the blade...

Just ran out and bought two bottles of it. Naturally, I had already shaved this morning, so it'll be a day or three before I can report back. But I will.

I picked up a bottle today to try and it seemed to work pretty well. Much faster than lathering up a brush and no soap scum residue to wash off after. I like that it is so compact. Thanks bpost for the heads up on this stuff.

I was thinking the exact same thing. This could really be useful.

If you're traveling, those little bottles of conditioner that can be found in some hotels work very well.

I haven't carried shave cream in years.

Looks a lot like a bottle of eye drops. Wouldn't want to mix them up.[:)]
