According to Emily Flax with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, authorities executed a search warrant at the home of Marie Holmes and Lamarr McDow in the Rutledge community.
During the search, detectives cited Holmes for simple possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Detectives also seized a firearm, and arrested McDow for possession of a firearm by a felon. He was taken to the Brunswick County Jail, and was given a $6 million bond.

Holmes presented one of the three winning tickets on Feb. 23. She chose to receive the lump sum payout, which was worth approximately $127 million after taxes, and was presented with a $188 million check.
Holmes said she planned to give back to the community, specifically to the church and to cerebral palsy organizations. She said she has always wanted to travel, and this would allow her to fulfill those dreams. Additionally, Holmes said she planned to set up college funds for her children.
Lamarr McDow bonds out of jail on multi-million dollar bond
Records show McDow bonded out of the Brunswick County Jail shortly after 5 p.m. Feb. 24. We were told a bonding company put up the money to have him released.
Officials say McDow is a validated gang member. In Nov. 2014, he was arrested along with two other men, on several charges including trafficking heroin.

are they going to lose their windfall[?][?][?][?][?]
Why not give (for example in this case)188 people one millions dollars each and make 188 millionaires instead of giving the entire wad to a single person?
That's ridiculous! A six million dollar bond? They don't do that to drug cartel leaders. Just because they know he won some money they're going to make him pay.
Bond is established at a figure that is intended to ensure that the bonded individual will want the money back sufficiently so that he will turn up in court. A bond of a couple of thousand bucks may not be a big incentive to someone who just received a check for $ 188m.

With 188 million I'd get someone on the payroll to get stoned for me.
