Amazon rant----->UPDATE

Well, it's going back at Amazon's cost. Turned it on--everything in Spanish. No home screen, no icons, nothing but Spanish. Amazon Technician could not help either. He sent a prepaid return label.

I've always been a big fan of Amazon and a Prime member; but, now they've pissed me off.

Friday, I bought a new cell phone from them (old one died) with 2-day shipping. I paid $124.99.

It shipped late Friday.

Saturday, I checked Amazon's website and the phone had been reduced to $115.00. I paid $9.99 more in less than 24 hours earlier.

I sent an email expressing the point that, "in all fairness, I should receive a credit/refund of the $9.99". And yes I was nice about it.

This was Amazon's response: "Hello,

We work hard to find the best prices out there and make sure our prices are as low or lower ? changing our prices instantly if we find a lower offer somewhere else. Therefore, we don?t offer post-purchase adjustments.

I've had Walmart issue a refund of a price difference that was 30 days old.

I'll be pissed about this for awhile.

My response to this would be: "Instead of ordering from Amazon for the next 6 months I will order from you competitors. This will cost you more than the $10 I am asking for. The ball is in your court now."

Or return the item for refund, then order another for the lower price.

You might want to read Amazon's policies. And they don't sell gas.

And returning it because you found it at a lower price is a reason you can return it. Not sure it is worth the hassle and being without a phone for $10 though.

Sorry, I don't think that you have a legitimate gripe. Gasoline & airline ticket prices change daily, but you paid what it cost at the time, like everyone else.

Prices at most retailers fluctuate, so you occasionally are going to get flucted. Remember, Amazon sells a lot of "reconditioned" & "last years" items, & they are always going to sell for less. Their profit margin is small, they just can't add a "benefit" that could cost them millions a year.

I've found the exact same products at two different prices many times on Amazon. You sure that the cheaper one isn't from a different seller?

If you had purchased the item at $115 and 2 days later the same item was going for $124.99, would you entertain a polite request from amazon that you pony up the $9.99 difference??

I wouldnt! Cuz, I "don't offer post purchase adjustments."

Amazon does change their prices often so I usually wait a few weeks and check around.

My garden tiller "quit" after 4 years and wasn't expensive so what the heck, get a new one and look at fixing the old.

Amazon price check was $119.00 and I'd seen it for $100. Sure enough, checked it a few days later and it was down to $92. Think maybe they see a lot of looks and no buys and will temporarily reduce price.

I'm with everybody else on this one, it's too bad you have buyers remorse. But that's not Amazon's fault
