Tomorrow I will be fishing on the big blue circle north of the Twin Cities called Mille Lacs. For many decades it has been a premium walleye lake and a favorite destination for MN anglers.
Right now it is less than desirable because of some fish management issues and it is pretty hard to bring home any fish with the restrictions they now have in place. I'm not sure what the slot limit is, but the limit is one fish if you are lucky enough to catch one the right size.
My friend and I are going to give it a try anyway just to be out in the boat on the 4th.
Going to start my celebration with an all American meal tonight. Picked up a nice grass fed porterhouse steak and going to serve it with potatoes, corn on the cob, beans, and watermelon for desert.
Happy 4th everyone!

New regulations will allow Mille Lacs sport anglers keep one walleye 19 to 21 inches long, or one more than 28 inches.
I looked it up while dinner was cooking. While they are stingy with the walleye, you are allowed 6 bass and 10 northern so we may target those for a while also.
