.22 ammo

I was making the pawn shop rounds and heard a guy asking for .22 shells.
The pawn shop didn't have any. Anyway I left ahead of this guy and as I was about to leave I remembered I had a 500 round brick of shells behind my pick-up seat. I pulled em out as this guy was getting in his truck next to me. I told him what I had and then I double checked the box so as not to cheat him. It was 100 rounds short do I told him that. He asked me how much so I said, "If you let me keep the wooden box I'll take $30".
He pulled out some cash as the guy who works in the pawn shop came outside to see what was going on. He seemed upset that I had not brought the ammo inside but it didn't occur to me to sell the ammo until I was I about to leave. I started to open an auction right there but I had already offered the ammo to the first guy and I didn't feel that was right. So maybe I sold it too cheap, I don't know but the guy at the pawnshop said if I have anymore ammo to bring it to him.

One of the best ways once found was to buy in bulk ensuring they are all from the same lot.

p.s. I tried to open a box of CCI mini mags and ended up breaking the box to get it open. anybody else get one of these plastic boxes from hell?
For me, it seems the winchester stuff is the absolute worst ammo for a NEW or low miileage gun. However, my well used (auto loader) guns seem to have no problem with it as well has the bolt, lever and pump actions.
CCI is king of the mountain, I shoot tons of the cb longs or shorts, the sub sonic and standard velocity. But they are getting a little proud of their product. Remington subsonics are less expensive and perform just as well.
Remington bulk ammo is ok, but for some reason it is NOT f/a compliant.
Over all on bulk ammo I am going to shoot from the hip and say I have a 3% loss across the board.

I have 18 bricks (550 rds each) and they are just sitting in my gun room growing "dust".
At $75 per brick or more, you are sitting on a cash cow!
