Midas touch in reverse

Today was one of those days. Nothing went as you would hope. First job of the day was a no show. Waited in the driveway trying to contact somebody by phone and no one answering. Left and took a job which should have taken 3-4 hours and it took 8. Touch something and it breaks. Drop a special screw and it bounces under a cabinet and takes 20 minutes with a flashlight and a stick to fish it out again. Need a part and it is the one size you just used the last one yesterday. Need a star drive bit and it is the one not included in my Bosch bit set. The last thing I am doing is putting the last screw for a side mount dishwasher in and a glue joint splits, it was a glued up filler piece next to the dishwasher. So now I get to go back, pull the dishwasher, reglue the face frame, then return after it sets to reinstall the dishwasher. I am glad today is over.

The good part is that the customers were super nice and oddly enough the woman is the spitting image of Michelle Bachman. I'm talking good enough to be a stand in at a public appearance. When she greeted me at the door I actually thought it was Bachman until she spoke. She has a nice twang to her voice and I found out she is a Tennesee girl. Very nice people and friendly dogs who kept stealing one of my shoes and carrying it upstairs and putting it on the bed. She said that was the dogs way of trying to get me to stay.[:)]
