Do NOT listen to this, if you have lost a father. If you do, have tissues handy. I miss you, pop

    Sorry Dan, I can't, or won't.

Lost my father unexpectedly 3 years ago this Friday. Just 2 months shy of his 80th birthday. We had quite a lot planned.

Just wanted to let you know you are not alone.

I have no words to help you get through this as I'm still not sure how I did, and still am.

Me and him, a few weeks before he was gone...
    Love you Dad!

They were our hero's, and made us what we are. God bless you, my friend.

Thank you and God Bless you as well Dan.

That is all I can say right now that would be worth anything.

I'm not looking forward to the moment. My Dad is not doing well and the end result is eminent. Lost my Mom 19+ years ago after watching her wither away. It Sux for me for the fact that I am 1200 miles away for work at the shipyard instead of 40 miles away at the present.

I don't think you ever get over it. 27 years ago this May for me. I still have the first shotgun he gave me. I don't think Dad ever owned a shotgun, but I wanted to hunt ducks so he got me a Wards Western Field 12 gauge pump when I was 14. A lot of memories. Stay strong.

I have a different retrospect for my Father....he was a task master, and that is how he showed love.He tought me survival ,and honor. He was very tough, and I only seen him cry one time...when he thought my mother was dying....but she outlived him...I went to see him in the hospital(pheumonia) and he said to me: "Son,go on home and live your life"...."I am going to die , and I have no regrets"...next night, the hospital called.....

Dad died 37 yrs ago this last Feb. I wasn't ready either and it was a very hard lesson in life that still haunts me to this day. Take nothing for granted because it can be taken from you in an instant.

I have been missing Dad since 1/26/2013. It hurts everyday. Most days are good ,But I only takes one little thing to set off a world of emotion. Sometimes it's just a smell. Like my Dads work shop which was in the barn(wow). I also have one of his flannel shirts that he wore forever. It hangs in my man cave closet sealed in a bag. Oh the memories it brings back. I have the lyrics to this song hanging above my desk[^]
