anyone own a 97-02 Mitz Mirage??

with the 1.5 liter engine, what air filter do you use. I have been to Advance auto, Auto Zone, NAPA, O'Rieleys and the dealership-which referred me to Carquest-and all of the filters are too big. Anyone have one of these cars and have a filter number????

With the 1.5 you should have a "DE" model car. Have you looked at the
1.8 "LE" filter? Also look at the 1996 filters. Won't be the first time a car was made "old" parts and sold as a "new" model.

Ran into this problem last year. NAPA was showing the same filter fit both the Lancer and the Mirage. They wont interchange.

Check K&N part #33-2105

Height = 2"
Outside Length = Tad over 8"
Outside Width = Tad over 8"

The one for the OLDER model is smaller.

thanks. Found the air box part # that is supposed to be in this car. it is 2 digits off of the one I have. Ironically the one I have is apparently a ghost. talked to multiple "parts specialists" and they cant find the part # anywhere.
