Question for Floridians

I was working at the hotel this morning and I was taking my brain cell regenerating smoke brake. A couple who said they were from Florida asked me about some plants & bushes along the parking lot. She was smelling the flowering bush and she mentioned to me that they don't have any pretty flowers or vegetation in Florida. I thought to myself that, that sounded kinda strange. I mentioned to them about the Mitchel Park Domes we have here and they said they'd check them out the next time they came up. Then I thought to myself my wife's got a lot of better looking vegetation then what the lady was smelling.
So what's up with the vegetation in Florida???

I have no clue what the ditz was talking about. We can grow just about anything here,...and many do.[:)]

I've only been in South Florida for a few months, but I have noticed there seems to be a lot of lush green stuff, but not a whole lot of pretty flowering stuff. Most plants and trees I've never seen anywhere else we've been stationed. Definitely not as pretty as, for example, Virginia's Dogwoods, Azaleas, etc.

You really don't want to get into sniffing distance of most FL plants, they've either got some type of dagger like stickers, poison sap, and/or multiple bugs... with teeth! [B)]
