Anyone have a good way to get rid of them. My lawn has horrible mushroom problems. It is not over water in fact some areas are dry.

My neighbor kid used to call and ask permission to come over and kick them. He had a * them, and it was a hoot to watch him. If you were willing to pay travel expenses, I might be able to talk him into coming over and kicking yours!

    Let me know.

Did you cut down a tree where the mushrooms are growing. I cut down a couple of trees two years ago and this year mushrooms started growing above of the rotting roots.

I researched how to get rid of them and found out there is really nothing you can do, digging the old roots out is about the only thing you can do to get rid of the rooms.

Mushrooms grow in decaying organic material.

..I've cut two trees this year and there are shrooms all over the chipped wood area. They don't bother me and I don't bother them.

..As for fairy rings....I haven't had them for years and I kind of liked climbing on the roof to look down on them. They don't seem to harm the grass, so why fret over either one? Nature's cool...[^]

Edit: Before I found out what fairy rings were, my neighbor had them also and we thought they were alien landing spots. At least we half joked about it...[8]

..They're almost too perfectly round to believe.

..When we had fairy rings, they never developed the shrooms.
It was just a round ring of very long, green grass. It looked
like we'd made a circle with nitrogen fertilizer. Very weird.

It's a good thing your state is not infested with unicorns like mine.[:D]

why not embrace them as a gift of nature? The ones we get here, around oak trees are edible as well. They don't last long, but are a beautiful addition to any lawn,IMHO. You should watch 'The Spiderwick Chronicles" and you will understand their true value

With shrooms, positive identification is mandatory!
One wrong ID mixed with many, can, and will, kill you!
