What is a S&W 38 special, model 60, no dash, "R" serial prefix with 5 digit serial, pinned barrel, S&W grips. late 60s to early 70s. worth?

    that wouldnt bring 250.00 on auction...so i will pay 400.00 to cut major losses

    "Good condition" is between fair and excellent, and could be a pretty wide range. If there's just normal wear, and nothing serious. I'd say $600+/- is close.
