I'm not a big fan of color on my guns. I like good looking wood.

The color is not as important as the amount of green.

If I put BURL AAA FANCY WALNUT on a 10/22, Then how Many would Buy it.
I would hear about how nice, but would not get any bids.

Start it at a penny and you would get bids.

A compliment from any of us has no direct correlation to a bid.

If you truly have a niche market (defines the specific product features aimed at satisfying specific market needs, as well as the price range, production quality and the demographics that is intended to impact), you wouldn't have to make such a statement or solicit any advice from the forum (no offense) because it will pretty much sell itself. In short, we are probably not part of the niche market.

I have a local custom gun builder/gunsmith (not 10-22s) that his customers (many of which are repeat customers) are willing to wait for over a year for his rifles. He specializes in extreme long range hunting/shooting rifles.

Now I'm lost. Could someone please tell me what "BURAL" means in english?

I Googled it, and the first entry was for a Russian Airline. [?]

    Or he could have meant.

quote:A burl (American English) or bur or burr (used in all non-US English speaking countries) is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner. It is commonly found in the form of a rounded outgrowth on a tree trunk or branch that is filled with small knots from dormant buds.

I am working on one now that will be Blue and GOLD MARBEL.
It will have an 20" Stainless, .920 Snake Flute Barrel Screwed into a Stainless
Receiver with 3/4"--16-TPI and kept to Match Tolerance through-out
It will have an Thumbhole Anschultz style Fiberglass Stock, built by Bell ans Carleson.
On top will be DUAL-Dove Tail Mounts and a LEUPOLD scope.

Joe, I think that very, very few are going to want to buy Technicolor rifles, may appeal to some but next to none in the average market. In my opinion, the bright colors make a serious rifle look more like a kids toy or a cartoon plus (also my opinion) I find it distracting at the very least.
I'm not attacking your sense of style (to each his own), simply restating what has been said a hundred different times in at least that many ways.

And just for the record, Henry Ford was a very, very successful man .... hummmmm .. must have been something to it ... you think?

Laminated Cinnamon for me. Take a look at some of the Savage rifles Joe. Look at the thumb hole stocked one. Joe I don't know why you think all those colors are so neat but fact is most men want a beautiful wood stock. I know a nice figured stock has lured me into buying a gun many times. I don't mean dipping in something to get the effect. I want wood myself. I have seen a lot of women on the trap lines with painted stocks and they didn't look bad but most men wouldn't pay 3 to $20.000 for a trap gun with a painted stock.

I remember these and I am sure are cool to the builder and maybe that small market that likes stuff like that. personally I do not like colors, and personally I am not in the market for a high priced 22 as I am sure many others arent as well. Maybe focus on a different platform

Why anyone would want to make a high dollar lowend rifle look like plastic crap is beyond me.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Only in your head did I say there was. I merely said it LOOKS like plastic. And why anyone would want to make that be true is beyond me.

You NEED a Back-groung behind you Guns.
Your 10/22 Receivers needs to be up-Graded for accuracy and smoother cycling.and set the Trigger pull to 3-3 lbs.

I would be glade to Help you with that.
