.... and I'm sure liberals are as frustrated by the success of this local HS as I am proud of it!!

- Let's start with the school mascot, and a fitting tribute to the American Pioneer, positioned directly in the front of the school for all to see.

- Home to one of the Nation's oldest (1917) and largest HS JROTC Programs..... and certainly one of the last to have an indoor range.

- Produces respectable young adults, including MS. Kansas who is a member of the National Guard, and working to become a Dentist in the US Army. (http://1350kman.com/miss-kansas-visits-shooting-range/ )

- There are more than a few each year. Over 15,000 high school seniors apply for entry into the United States Military Academy at West Point. After a highly competitive and rigorous application process, only 1,200 will report as cadets in July to begin their college education. Leavenworth High School has a strong history of military appointments, typically sending two to four graduates to a military academy. However, the Class of 2012 is set to make history.with an impressive eight appointments to the United States Military Academy at West Point, one to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and one to the Naval Academy Preparatory School.

Not bad for a flyover state. [;)]
