How many of you have sent a vital spring sailing across a room never to be found again? [:D] Just happened to me the other day. I ordered a new one and put it back in my kel-tec P11 a couple days ago. I'm glad to have it back in action. What springs for which guns have you lost?

cant say i never made one a projectile, but never lost one, send a few more and you'll learn in certain situation how point it in a direction to find it, an ar15 detent can be hard to find, i learned to lay down a towel because the fibers will collect it in the event you launch one

    Manny,
Good to see you back on the GD side. You're spending too much time in politics[;)]

Haven't lost a spring, but there's an allen wrench that about as big around as a safety pin hiding somewhere on my workbench. I'd dearly love to see it again.

Need if for a trigger adjustment.[;)]

Yes and also the little spring followers that are launched by the spring.
The 30 Carbine extractor spring and plunger is a good example. They will disappear if you're not ready for it.

First time I took my 1911 apart the recoil spring plug went AWOL ... looked all over, was about to order another but gave the entertainment center a good cleaning, found it.

Lost a set screw for a Remington 241 .22's semi auto system.

Cost me about $40 buck on fleabay for a bag of misc parts for 1 set screw! I still have the bag of parts. Figured I'd someday find another 241 missing something.

Used a piece of nylon air hose until I bought it.

Trigger link spring on a High Standard HD Military. Imagine a bowed piece of paper thin metal less than an 1/8" wide and about an inch long. Looks like a hair from most angles. I spent hours looking for it the first and only time I lost one. I learned quick. The Carbine and Garand extractor springs are fun ones also.

Built an AR so Yes I've lost a Spring now have extras just in case.

And tear Down a M60 Incorrectly and the Buffer will Kill you or stick in the wall on the other side of the room. Been there done that didn't die so it stuck in the wall.

Lost me a "C" clip that kept the recoil group together on my H&K USP. I figured it's a silly no part part so I went to ACE. It turned out to be not true. Okay I could've picked up a few that would work but wasn't quite right.

Contacted H&K and they sent me a couple for free. Wait a tick was that the rear Millet adjustable sight story? [:D]

I've lost springs, pins, and all sorts of retainers over the years. When you work in the field and on dirt floors/gravel driveways, it's bound to happen. I lost several detent pins from AR's and a few springs before I got a detent installation tool from Brownells. Numerous buffer retainers because I forgot to put my thumb over it when removing the tube.
Funniest one was the firing pin retainer for a Jennings 22. Launched that one when I forgot to drop the striker before disassembling. Looked for hours to no avail but finally found one in a parts bin at the gunshow that weekend. Two weeks later, I found the original in the pocket of a pair of pants that had been in the laundry when the part was lost. Apparently, it had traversed the basement, bounced off a floor joist, and fell into the laundry basket where it ended up in the jeans pocket.

Had a cook reclass in our shop at Ft. Hood who damn near killed himself removing the top cap on a 4.2" mortar standard. Put a pretty good hole in the ceiling.

Lost more than I can remember, over the years. Spring guides, springs, detent balls are my speciality!

Usually find them, but again, usually after I have replaced them. Just put the found ones back in the box with all the other replacement springs, detent balls, and pins that I keep for when one goes airborn.
