Rough work

Over the years there have been countless movies and TV shows about "Secret Agents" who have either "Gone Rogue". Or have been falsely accused of going rogue.
The usual Movie/TV scenario is that they were gifted and committed professionals who were falsely accused of going rogue after completing a sensitive mission. And now the Govt. wants to kill them because they know too much.
So with the Hollywood popularity of this theme in mind, I ask the question. Does this stuff really happen?

Best to direct this question to BTDT. [;)][:D]
It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

He said gone rogue, not come out of the closet.

My thoughts would be Yes, Secret Agents are human, that said, they can go south given the right situation/offer, and yes if they "know" to much top secret info., and it would be in the best interest for National Security to have them exterminated, yes I think our gov. would (and with my approval), have him/her assassinated JMO

That must be a real attractive job offer perk. Do a great job and as a reward we'll kill you.

Wasn't there an US CIA type who switched sides during the Cold War?

All traitors should be executed publicly as an example, not assassinated quietly. The Walkers and that high level CIA muckety muck come to mind. [xx(]
The next neck in the noose should be that soldier that took it upon himself to provide hundreds of documents to wiki. [:(!]
