Did Republicans jump the gun on the Confederate

Will any of the perp politicians back peddle on the issue now?:

Did Republicans jump the gun on the Confederate flag?

Excerpt from the story at the following link with photos:

Politicians were tripping over themselves to call for the Confederate flag to be taken down in the wake of the Charleston shootings. But new polling has found Americans weren't quite so decisive.

In fact, for once, politicians might actually have gotten out ahead of public opinion.

No because they are only attempting to cater to one particular community on this issue.

So if a politician jumps out ahead but the constituents turn right and head off in another direction, is the politician still "ahead of the issue"?

Some of you need to go back and read your history. The stars and bars was the flag of Democrats. Segregation, Jim crow, products of democrats. Names such as Wallace, Faubus, Barnett, Maddox, I could go on.

I love it, when politicians get their "information" from sources other than their constituents.

It is especially pleasing, when they find out they are on the wrong side of the fence from the people that they are supposed to represent.

    Dear Elected Official,

Ask me - not the media.

    Signed,
    The guy that elected you.

quote:Bubba Watson's General Lee (also known as the Dodge Charger used by the Duke brothers in the 1980'* show The Dukes of Hazard) will no longer have a Confederate flag on top.

On Thursday, the two-time Masters champion tweeted his decision to paint over it with the American flag.

Watson won General Lee at an auction in 2012. In January, he got the car autographed by John Schneider, the actor who played Bo Duke.

Is he going to change the name of the car to the "Gen Grant" too?

This issue is deep seated in politics.

Just review the history on how many times the US has entered into the governments business all over the world insisting that freedom of the people must be the "only way".

Actually, the same thing happened to begin the Civil War. The North attacked the South (while the North was selling slaves), under the false reasoning of slaves, when they wanted the products of the South, primarily cotton.

I was born and raised in Alabama. Have traveled to many parts of the world in my 10 years overseas. Travel in over half of the States in the US.

The comments by people who have never spent time in the South readily consider themselves to be authorities on their limited research of factual information on the South. Many depend on the media, unbiased of course, for their info.

During the past 10 - 20 years, I have seldom seen a Confederate flag displayed. Within the past week or so, I've seen hundreds. Ordered one myself, because the buzzards are not going to tell me how to act or think. To me, the flag is simply an item of history and has it's proper place there.

    End of rant.

IMO the GOP office holders who stabbed Americans in the back and joined the whining liberal pukes because they sought favor with the left has cut their own throats. They pandered to a minority...who will not support them no matter how much they kowtow. Meanwhile, they have PISSED OFF their own base.

Yes, they acted too rapidly and with too little thought. A common error.
