I strongly doubt that a majority of Americans support amnesty.

I have little doubt that a majority of Americans support a path to citizenship complete with fines, confessions, tougher standards and longer waits than those who came legally, that sort of thing.

Anything that lets illegal aliens stay and live in the U.S. permanently is amnesty.

I will give them amnesty to the border and if not they go to jail with the employer that knowingly hired them. No way this nation can support 20 or 30 more Million welfare riders and if we don't get Amnesty stopped you can say North Mexico

No, "Anything" is not amnesty. Only Amnesty is Amnesty. Words have meanings. Pretending words have meanings different from what they have long meant is a dishonest and dishonorable political tool:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amnesty#Improper_uses_of_the_term
    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/amnesty
    http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/amnesty

If there is punishment, there is no Amnesty. Nor should there ever be Amnesty for this.

Anti-gunners pull the same trick when they wrongfully but very purposefully redefine semi-automatic rifles as "Assault Weapons". It is equally dishonest. There is no such thing as an "Assault Weapon" without selective fire. They twist the meaning of words to serve a political purpose.

An act equally as wrong as twisting the meaning of Amnesty.
