I don't use fancy things like custom triggers. I use the generic boring OEM units which seem to make my AR's go bang every time.

Trigger up grades to a AR are only important to the people who are trying to polish a turd, oops, I mean are trying to improve their AR, but everyone loves food, in fact we couldn't live without it

Enough that I've lost count. I think it's time to either crap or get off the pot.

...With that trigger, now you need one of these, sweet! Hardly NO carbon or crud build up (no scraping!) and a whisper of lube...IF at all, it's BEST, NOT to run any lube on the NB BCG, sweet.

    FAIL ZERO coated BCG's:
    http://www.failzero.com/buynow/m16-4-products.html

    WMD NIB-X BCG:
    http://www.redbarnarmory.com/WMD-M16-NiBX-BCG-p/nibxbcgfa.htm
Hardly none of the photos show the BRIGHT finish on the WMD BCG, hard to get a good pic because its buffed slicker than a new born babies butt..and is SMOOTH! WHICH, is what you want for the least amount of friction.

You can get a FA BCG w/FA hammer...OR an FA BCG w/SA hammer.
The FA BCG has a tad more mass, lessening chances of missfires due to the harder military primers in Military 5.56, no huge deal either way, I like the FA & FA hammer BCG.

The hammer you can get as an addition (on some sites) is coated with NB too...and, Geissele makes an NB coated trigger AND its around $70 bucks...Ive heard is VERY close to the $200-$300 Geissele triggers, depending on if you want a trigger w/stages or not, or just slicker than Owl poop that breaks around 6#.

Add one to an NB BCG w/hammer...and you have "BUTTA".

Spikes/Bravo Co/Geissele (pronounced "Geissly" for dummies like me)/LWRC etc etc. produce some nice NB coated triggers too.

Even though several quality companies manf. NB BCG's...the WMD NIB-X is the smoothest/slickest one Ive seen (IMO the BEST)...it is SLICK & SMOOTH, and part of the idea is that friction is bad...and the WMB has very little compared to others, super shiney. The WMD NIB-X NB BCG gets my vote hands down...and the prices have gotten reasonable...for now anyway.

Hard Chrome is about the toughest finsih/coating made, & NB is about 5 X tougher, to give you and idea.

    FEATURES OF THE WMD BCG:

Bolt - Carpenter 158 case hardened, shot peened and magnetic particle inspected. Manufactured to Government drawings. Mil Spec gas rings. NiB-X coated (40% more wear resistant than Chrome)
Extractor - Manufactured, heat treated, hardened, per Government drawings. Black extractor buffer and heavy duty spring. NiB-X coated
Firing Pin - Manufactured, heat treated, hardened, Chromed and certified per Government drawings.
Carrier - M16 style carrier (heavy weight), 8620 material, heat treated and case hardened. Manufacturing tolerances on inside diameters tightly controlled. NiB-X coated for durability and ease of cleaning.
-Gas Key - Hardened to USGI Specifications and attached using grade 8 hardened fasteners. Permatex No. 3D Aviation Form a gasket Type III Sealing Compound per MIL-S-45180 used on assembly. NiB-X coated. Staked per military specifications.
Cam pin - Manufactured, heat treated, hardened and certified per Government drawings. NiB-X Coated.
    Made in USA

WMD NIB-X...about as good as it gets for a BCG!

    Now Tom, better than recipes?...[;)]

    Doc
if it matters I liked the way to put into real world trigger pull comparison . just did not leave a comment
    copy of trigger break

the destructions advise to have installed by a trained gunsmith,
but it onlt took me 10 minutes, and i never replaced an AR trigger before.
you need to dry firy it a few times to make sure it functions correctly and the saftey still works.
the trigger pull is linear, no break whatsoever.
unlike the glock trigger, you cant feel the rest.
put your finger on the tip of your nose and push.
the pressure it takes to sqish you nose a bit is about 4#.
close your eyes and push on your eyeball until you feel the slightest bit of discomfort.
    thats 3-3.5 pounds.
if your eye hurts after the test, you pushed harder than the trigger pull on this.
cant wait to throw some rounds down with this!

...I forgot about these Nickel Boron BCG's from AIM, they've just started having them made the last few months.

Nickel Boron BCG...angled at the back of body...which is where the bolt body design appears to be headed for more reliability...doesnt catch "trash" and foul, and cause problems from the debris/dirt.

These LOOK nice, not as "shiney/slick" as the WMD, but its about $100 bucks less too!

Gas key is staked 110% correct/top notch parts & steel/O ring up grade/MPI etc etc, very nice for the low cost, not "cheap", just inexpensive.

For those own a tight budget...these CANT be beat @ $130 bucks shipped!

Ive seen and used one of these in a buddies DPMS & STAG, flawless operation, and after about 300 rounds...a cleaning patch w/CLP on it wiped it spiffy clean with no scrapping off carbon!

The improvement in smooth operation has to be felt to be believed, and the "wipe-off" cleaning is just a BIG bonus.

Some of ya'll might want to check these out...[;)]

    AR-15 Triggers and Food Recipe's?

    Well ... okay then ...

Would love to have some fancy trigger package for my AR. Just can't justify the cost on a low cost gun (Bushmaster Carbon 15).

So I pulled out the gritty, heavy "Mil-Spec" trigger parts and worked them over with a very fine stone. Just a little bit at a time, slow and steady. Clean up, lightly lube and reassemble, try it out dry-fire. Then take apart and do again.

Eventually got it to be a smooth trigger, maybe still a bit over five pounds but at least well under the ten or more it felt like new. Looking at the metal faces under a magnifier it was barely anything removed really. Can still see something of the original roughness.

    As for recipes . . .

    "ALMOST" NEW YORK LINDY'S CHEESECAKE

    CRUST:
    1 c. sifted flour
    1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. fresh grated lemon rind
    1/2 c. butter, butter
    1 egg yolk
    1/4 tsp. vanilla

    FILLING:
5 (8 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese, softened
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    3 tbsp. flour
    5 eggs
    2 egg yolks
1 1/2 tsp. each orange & lemon rind
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. heavy cream

Butter bottom and side of 9 inch springform pan.

    Prepare Crust:
Stir together flour, sugar and lemon rind in medium size bowl until well mixed.
Make a well in the center; cut up butter into small pieces and add to well with egg yolk and vanilla.
    Mix with pastry blender.
Form dough into ball; cover; chill 1 hour.
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Press 1/3 dough into even layer over bottom of prepared pan.
    Bake 10 minutes.
Remove and cool on wire rack.
Press remaining dough into an even layer over side of pan to a height of 2 inches.
Increase oven temperature to 475 degrees.

    Prepare Filling:
Beat cream cheese, sugar and flour in a large bowl until smooth.
Beat in eggs and yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix in grated orange and lemon rinds, vanilla and heavy cream.
    Pour into pan.
Bake at 475 degrees for 10 minutes.
Lower oven temperature to very slow 200 degrees; bake 1 hour more.
Turn off oven; leave cake in UNOPENED oven for 1 hour.
Open oven door; leave cake in oven 30 minutes more. Remove from oven to wire rack; cool to room temperature.
    Refrigerate until cold.

To serve, remove cake from pan.
Wash and hull 1 1/2 pints of strawberries.
Arrange strawberries, stem-side down, over top of cake.
Using 1/2 cup strawberry jelly for a glaze, heat jelly, stirring constantly, in a small saucepan over low heat, until melted.
    Brush glaze over strawberries.
    Makes 12 generous servings.

For the crust, I typically substitute one made using nut flour (almond flour from Trader Joe's) and a dark chocolate in place of butter. Give it a quick bake to set it some, but not really cook it. Pull it out, layer dried cheeries on the crust and pour the cheesecake into it for baking.
