It's funny, because about every verbally expressed vegan, health food advocate, etc.. I've ever know, has always been the first ones to not feel well, be cold, really not even look that good, like the pic shows. My SIL is one. She's always been one to push Holistic remedies, herbals and such. But, I've never known her to be a very healthy person. I'm game with trying to eat better, take some vitamins, exercise. But, you have to enjoy life also. I'm not going to worry about what a few donuts today is going to take off my life, if I enjoy those donuts right now. I don't eat at McD's, But do enjoy an occasional good Pub Cheeseburger.

Well, I heard on the radio yesterday that now "they" are saying salt and cholesterol are OK. So eat eggs and bacon and sausage and grits with butter and biscuits and gravy. But I already do anyhow so "they" can kiss my
    grits.[:D]

McKeith is a quack, a pseudoscience nut, pretends to be a doctor. That photo and others from the incident were circulated a few years back when she was having some sort of break down on a survivor type reality show in the jungle. While I don't buy into her schtick, the internet meme of her and Lawson really isn't a fair one. She did not normally look like that.

I'm also a vegetable eater. Nothing like a big baked potato with real butter, some sour cream, real bacon bits not that imitation crap. Right next to the steamed broccoli covered in a real extra sharp cheddar cheese sauce. Or maybe a large ear of sweet corn on the cob with melted butter to dribble on it.

You have to have the veggies on the plate. It all provides balance to the plate so when your steak lands on it, it doesn't tilt.

I don't think bacon is bad, I think it is the nitrates the government forces them to add that are bad.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
What he said. I eat lots of bacon but it doesn't contain any nitrates or nitrites.

You understand smoked meat needs nitrates, or the process of curing and smoking it will grow bacteria that won't die when you cook it, and can kill you?

Buddy has an old German smoking cook book that calls for nitrates in every smoked, not fresh, one.

Maybe nigela's cocaine addiction helps to make her look younger than her actual years?

They've been putting nitrates, or cure, in smoked meats since the late 1800's.

Cilantro actually has some kind of "cure" abilities. Supposedly why Latinos used it in a lot of dishes since way back. It stunts bacteria growth.

So I'm not really a cooking show fan. Just read some on Nigella Lawson. Heard of her before, she was in the news for various troubles. Seems like a real nice gal. Her views may not all be acceptable here, but at least some are home-run hitters for the GB Forums.

Such as she'd love to kill a bear, cook it and wear it's fur. That one went over poorly with PETA, and she didn't seem to care. I like that. [:)]

She said some other things about human sexuality that would not be GB Forums Group Think Approved. [:0]

So I guess she's just about perfect! [:D]
