I live in Lafayette parish, N.O. is a few hours east, just finding out about it right now. Shooter dead, and one woman dead.
Movie theaters, churches, etc. are prime kill zones. Large crowds with no where to go. Always carry at these places.
On the very few occassions I actually go to the theater, I always carry and try to sit where I have no one behind me and a good view of entrances/exits.
Seven victims injured, 3 dead including killer
Obama also told the big lie, "Since 9/11 less than 100 Americans have been killed by terrorists, the number killed by gun violence is in the tens of thousands."
I watched a news clip on this. Towards the end Obama said we need common sense gun laws. I agree. Common sense says that every honest and mentally competent citizen who wants to carry a firearm should be allowed to do so. "An armed society is a polite society." - Robert Heinlein

Gov doesn't call most muslim terrorist acts as such, Fort Hood for example.
Funny how these incidents occur so frequently during an election time.
Maybe all the programed wacko's are bring turned loose.

We are 15 months from an election, but then anymore were seem to be in a constant election cycle.

quote:TGIF, the 205th day of 2015 and the day after President Barack Obama, in an exclusive interview with the BBC, said the failure to pass "sensible" gun safety legislation was "the greatest frustration" of his presidency, lamenting that "the United States of America is the one advanced nation on Earth" where spree shootings seem to continue unchecked. As if on cue, a gunman opened fire Thursday evening inside a Lafayette, Louisiana, movie theater; the gunman killed three people, including himself, and wounded nine others. Adding insult to tragedy: The bloodshed happened exactly a week after a gunman killed four people in a Chattanooga, Tennessee, military recruiting station, prompting civilians to bring their own guns to guard those centers - sometimes with dangerous consequences. size=4]
This was not an act of "Gun Violence". There is no such thing as an object being violent or non-violent. Only living persons are capable of violence, or peace, or any other act.
We need to rebuild the mental health infrastructure that was torn down back in the 1970's. Get the crazies back into secured I stitutions where the belong. Instead of wondering thru life like unstable bombs looking for a place to go boom.
This guy wasn't even from our area, he wasn't from Louisiana. His only ties to the community was an uncle who lived here 35 years ago. He'd been staying at a motel 6 since the beginning of July, they found wigs, and other forms of disguise in his room.
Was his name Catylin.[;)]
I don't care how many gun laws you enact,it will do nothing to stop the gun violence by criminals.

Agreed, no anti-gun laws will change what criminals and the crazies do.
I disagree on any of us even using the phrase "Gun Violence". The phrase carries with it the pre-conception guns cause the violence.
People cause violence. People do violence. Only people.
