Now they will try harder with another one to convince the others about the evils of ammo.

Is this the same guy who said that all handguns chambered in rifle cartridges should be outlawed?

I have been told there is no such thing as an "EX-Marine".

    He proves that wrong.

Won't miss him but it won't be much of a change for the better, if at all.

Jones is a lawyer supposedly brought in to clean up ATF after the gun walking scandals of "Wide Receiver" and "Fast & Furious". Doubt he had much influence on the career bureaucracy that controls the culture there. The only way to drain that swamp is to fire a whole bunch of careerists.

His replacement, Brandon, is just that, another ATF careerist. Has 16 years inside the ATF. He was in charge of the Phoenix office, Arizona and New Mexico operations for a while.

If he is to become the next Director, he should be severely grilled in confirmation hearings. On all the Gun Walking Scandals. On what is wrong in the agency culture that could generate such a long history of bloody failures.

Yeah he quit because of the racist opposition to his plan to ban .223 ammo.

(I'm sure it was racist. I've been listening to CSPAN and every morning on the democrat call line I learn that everybody who opposes anything obama tries is racist and that's why they're opposing him.)

The maximum rate of pay in the Federal Senior Executive Service is $181,500 per year. So that's the highest he could have gone.

For a high level lawyer job in the NFL, that'd be chump change. He's not falling on his sword for Obama, he's following the money.
