M1A with no markings on it at all?

Bought a nice M1A with no markings on it at all. Nowhere. No SN, no caliber, no maker, nothing. And there is no evidence that any of the #'s were removed. odd?

CIA gun?

I was thinking Norinco or Polytech, but as far as I know, they were both marked clearly. Could be a CAI gun, though. I'm not sure how or where those were marked.

I think anything made after 1968 must have a SN on it.

Unless some individual made it for himself, and then sold it later (one of the earlier ban panic sales).

It has a sn...it a norinco...polytecs were stamped with the serial number and name on the heel...just like spring field. Some norincos were not....just a serial number on the left side and nothing else.....I bought a unmarked norinco from a ffl back in 92.....rare but out there
