I sent this pic to Samsung and they had no interest in responding...
Just saying. [}:)]
That's amazing. Never seen a washer, rust out. [:0]
That was a $900+ HE washer....less than 3 years old at the time of the pic. It did a terrible job washing clothes too. I got rid of it and bought the cheapest standard washer. HE clothes washers suck. The don't clean your clothes as well and take twice as long as a conventional clothes washer.
Other than that,, POS's. That is my personal experience based on local peoples experience (not usa) with LG / Samsung washers.
Have an LG refrigerator and it needs to be replaced after 6 years. Door gaskets rotted out, door does not close unless it is "shoved" closed and the door problem seems related to swelling of the "insulation".
My Whirlpool washer (made in Mexico) has required two service calls in 14 years and is still running and almost "rust free". The washer is located in a covered outdoor environment and has recently shown a few rust spots on the exterior. My new whirlpool washer (I'm a two washer family) seems OK for clothes and is made in country, just not the U.S.[:p]
Consumer Reports Link to some information about made is USA appliances and manufactures.

We had one, it was a POS. Fortunately we bought the extended warranty on it. They had to send techs out several times to make repairs. After 3 years or so we got rid of it, was a total POS. Even the interior started rusting out.....a clothes washer rusting.
Have you ever had your water tested?
Water with low pH levels is acidic and corrosive.
If you have copper waterlines looking like is.
Very good chance that you have low pH (soft) water.
If $1,000 won't buy me a good machine today, I may as well keep the old one running.

Our water is fine. The clothes washer was a POS.
All weight is on the rear bearing spindle.
Corrosion eats up the aluminum tub mount at the bearing.
The tub turns very fast.
When tub mount breaks then the tub will
exit the machine through the top.
Might be dangerous.
