Kenneth Frazier, the CEO of the pharmaceutical company Merck, quit Trumps American Manufacturing Council.

He is a Bl*ck guy and the only one on the council. He said he was quitting because Trumps 1st response to the BS in Va.

Great show of leadership, stick around and fix the problem or quit.

We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence. It has no place in America,? Trump said.

He added, ?Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.?

I think the president realizes that the event this past weekend was centered on the defense of the Robert E. Lee monument. Aside from the car incident and pending prosecution, we'll have to wait and see if 'both sides' are treated fairly, and if they are not, then Trump will get the criticism he would so well deserve, including Sessions, too.

Agreed calling out the KKK and ANY and ALL other hate groups is perfectly correct by the President. The shame is he only called out those the left wing insisted he specifically name after he already said Hate groups had no place in America.

The fact that left wing hate groups are getting a free ride is the issue. He can't call them out with out enraging the left

I objected to Obama getting out in front of racial incidents before all of the facts are in, and I hold Trump to the same standard.

We do not know who instigated the violence, but we do know that those who were protesting the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue had a lawful permit to conduct their protest.

Anti-history fascists attacked them, and Trump has jumped on the bandwagon condemning the lawfully permitted protest group over the group of anti-history fascists who attacked them.

I find whole of the white supremacist movement to be abhorrent. What we are seeing today, however, is anyone who opposes the destruction of our history labeled a white supremacist hate monger regardless of whether there is any merit to the statement at all.

Our president rightly called upon all groups to eschew violence in his initial statement. He then caved to the pressure of race-baiting fascists and changed his statement to single out the group that was lawfully permitted and was, almost by definition, attacked by the anti-history and anti-free speech fascists.

He should have stood his ground until all facts come out, which, in this day and age, will probably never happen.

The reporting of this incident has been disgusting. Granted, there seem to have been many in the lawfully permitted protest group who have an archaic view of race, but the protest was not about race, and labeling the protest as a white supremacist protest is knee-jerk yellow journalism. Our President decided it was easier to join the herd than to stick to his original position of rational discourse.

Thanks. I can't get your link to work and only even have a vague awareness of what has transpired, where, and by who. The incident seems to have the left all atwitter with various triggers setting them off, one being Trump's response. That led me to believe it might have been a good one, and so when you criticized it as well, I thought it was worthy of further investigation.

Bottom line, I don't know what really transpired other than someone decided to run other folks over at some protest and that accusations of racism are flying.

    Thanks for your clarification.

At this point, I can't see how the actions or reactions even remotely affect me. I mean, I went all weekend and most of today not even knowing about it and nothing seems to have changed, for me.

Trump needs to speak up today, to the nation, and hold the Durham criminals to account for breaking the law through their destruction of the Confederate monument. He has little choice, or be considered another establishment political buzzard by a great many southerners who are first and foremost responsible for putting him into office.

Thanks chief! And it cannot be denied that Fox News talking heads are in lock step with the alt-Left media for not 'explicitly' making it known that they support the preservation of Confederate monuments and symbols as an important part of American history, and that anyone who breaks the law by vandalizing same should be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law, immediately.

    Trump fixed it today.

After caving to the media yesterday, our President came out with the truth today, specifically noting that there were bad actors on both sides during the Charlottesville debacle.

    Thank you, Mr. President.

A busy man with a crazy schedule and Charlottesville is just one thing on the agenda. Although incredibly important, safe to say not at the top on the daily national security briefing.
Briefings with top military brass, secret service, advisors, budget analysts, bill agenda, infrastructure, world, space, most including myself do not know what goes on in one day in the life of the president.
Mr Trump is quite intelligent, a strategist and has the ability to see the big picture and I truly believe that he wants to do his best for our nation and also to unite our nation. Tough job.
