Went up 110 dollars a year because of the wild fires NC had and the floods we had this year.[V]

My mother could not get flood insurance because she lived in a flood zone. I live on top of a mountain and have to have flood insurance.

yep a 2K toyota tacoma full coverage went to $700 a year plus ..now two pickups have liability and comprehensive only ..one full coverage...and the bucket truck has liability only ( i have had one small claim in 20 years)....what i am saving a year will buy a slick older pickup if needed...did someone mention farm bureau....they screwed me around one year on a crop hail claim and i dropped 17 policies and went to brand x with them and said "match them exactly" and they did saving 40% and NO annual fee...pays to shop every few years

This reminds me of my personal property taxes this year. Though our vehicles were a year older our prop tax went up $95.00

HA! State Farm is the worst insurance company I know of.

I could tell you several stories but I will sum it up quickly:

Get one claim and they will drop you.

Shop around, you will find better coverage for LESS money.

I have had State Farm with the same family of agents since the 80's and have not had the first problem with them. They have to drop me or raise my rates due to any claims. The last claim they paid was a little $10k for two stolen ATV's. Still pay the same rate I have for the past 15 years on our SxS & ATV's.

I have a standard rule. Every time an insurance co. raises my rates I shop for a better deal and I usually find one. I saved a thousand dollars by doing this last year. I hate insurance companies.

I also just changed company's last year and went with Allstate over Auto Owners.

I was surprised that Allstate saved me close to a grand a year mainly with the home owners insurance being tied in with my 2 auto's and the RV.

Have been told by friends to watch out for Allstate as they are good at getting you started low and let you have it shortly down the road.

After paying for insurance for over 43 years without any claims I have always felt that all I have been doing is feeding the legal extortionists anyway!

What they said about Allstate is true. They will jack you rate next time . They raised the appraisal on my home to $450,000 from $300,000 so I protested and they lowered it to 365 thousand. The real value tax assessment is $200,000. After they lowered it to 365 thousand they increased my garage to 65 thousand from 35 thousand. I went to state farm and saved a bundle. Same thing with the cars.

I had Allstate car insurance since 1972.About 2 years ago changed to State Farm because the rates were more than 50% less.I don't think car insurance companies give a damn about customer loyalty. If your dumb enough to stay thay just go up on your rates.

Being you are in NC you should look into ERIE. They have been good to us, their combined rates are very competitive.
